I, like partagus also received a siezure letter yesterday. My question is and I've not seen this on a board before, do they always come certified? Mine came certified and of course you have to sign for a certified letter. I need the letter for a resend but I was a little taken back by having to sign. Just making sure if this is the norm. Thanks guys.

You should not sign for anything. That is definitely not the "norm"..

A buddy at the gym said they do come certified or they have no way of knowing if you recieved it, why if it's not the norm would they need the signiture? The order was very small not something that would garner attention, so you've never heard this happening before? or is this something they now started.

dont sign shit, just take your loss of drugs/money like a man and fuck signing anything. thats a good way to get busted and damn sure way if you send the letter back to the supplier. its a risky game, just try to minimize your losses. you can make more money, acquire more drugs but you cant acquire more time if you go to jail.

I still can't understand why people don't get charged with anything when they seize these items. I mean not that I would want that to happen but it just confuses me that they make a big deal out of it and when they catch someones package they just send you a letter and forget about it. It actually makes me kinda nervous like there just recording and build a case against you for a future date.

They can't charge you simply by siezing an item that was addressed to you. To expensive to prosecute and no proof.

which WILL happen if the person keeps ordering... the name/address/senders address etc are all flagged and would provide evidence if they ever did file a case

I guess that would make since. Plus im sure there are tons of siezed mail each day so I guess you can't put everyone in jail. But knowing our government they will start fining you if items that are siezed are addressed to you. I can see them trying to make money like that.

Interesting. I would tend to think they could build a case. Then again, it wouldn't be worth it at all.

Too many siezed items and not enough man power to prosecute or investigate each one. Bro, dont fucking sign ANYTHING ELSE! That was a bad move. You should have just sent that motherfucking guy on his way and told him you are not signing for something you have no idea about or have no knowledge of. And forget about sending the seizure letter to your supplier cuz that can open up another fucking can of worms. Take your losses and go domestic or to a new addy. Be smart.

Remember guys, my "seizure letter" was for Cuban cigars, not gear. At the time of my order, and I explained this to the customs agent in charge of my "case", I did not know they were illegal. The agent said I had two options, if I wanted to contest the seizure a hearing date could be set up or I could foerfit my cigars and the case would be closed. Since they were illegal I decided to forefit the cigars.

After this happend, I talked to a friend of mine in customs and asked for clarification on seizure letters. He told me that there are three types of letters that go out, usually all certified. He said it is very rare anyone gets prosecuted on the first or second time they have a seizure. Without you actually receiving the package, they cannot prove you (1) ordered anything illegal and (2) took posession of something illegal. However, he did say your address may become flagged for any/all out of the country deliveries.

It's a mess. I wouldn't mess with international orders. I would only go with a local remailer if I did gear.

I got a letter from FL (Seizure) with my first order. Long story short, before I knew better, I used Registered EXPRESS. That was a big factor in the seizure I'm sure. My letter came in my mailbox, not certified. Seems very odd that they would go to the trouble of getting it sent via certified with all the letters I'm sure that they send out.

Just one more good reason to use an alias when ordering, when using W.Union (cash only), etc....as well as ordering my stuff UN-Registered. It may take a little longer to get it. BUT there's much less of a TRAIL leading to me. PLUS, I know I will NEVER be signing for anything. "Nobody by that name lives here, sorry!". "You have evidence of XYZ being sent here?" "Nobody here has ever received anything from XYZ...yea I've actually been a recent victim of identity theft..." Just some examples.
