I MIGHT have a hernia.

I am going in tommorow to get an ultrasound to find out if its an adductor strain or a hernia.

You mean adductor strain? From the little I know about hernia's, an abductor strain wouldn't make sense...

Fingers crossed indeed.

yeah adductor, my mind isnt functioning at the moment...my mind is all over the place

As my mum said, its not cancer or aids, but still i cant help but think about the next few weeks

It is a good sign you don't have a lump.

I had a whole year written off because of osteitis pubis. The worst thing was just before it struck, I had finally come to terms with how to train properly. In hindsight, I wouldn't have cared so much if I didn't have a clue.

If its just a strain, you'll be right after a few weeks rehab, so don't stress too much :)

Sorry to hear that, yer, a hernia where your abductors are would be really weird!

Good luck, like you said things could be worse:

You’re a Siamese Twin
Your brother, attached at your shoulder, is gay
You’re not
He has a date coming over tonight
You only have one ass…

Well that is really fucking hilarious

Endpoint, about three years ago I had a tear/strain/something that was really never diagnosed properly. It started after a day of heavy cleans, I belive i hyperextended my hip flexor. Anyway to make a long story short I went through 6 months of physical therapy and all kinds of other bs, because the docs thought it was a hernia for a while. Finally after months of excruciating pain, a doc gave me a shot of cortizone and within a week and a half i was better, turned out it was like inflamation causing pressure on the nerve. I had two other docs try to perform surgery. Point is make sure you get a good diagnosis, problems in that area are hard to deal with.

Thanks ironlion, and thanks fatrat, that is the funniest thing i have heard for a while.

Yeah im hoping the ultrasound will show what it is

Agree with IronLion. They're very hard to deal with.

I was fortunate enough to see a doctor who treats athletes (for the Aussies, the Western Bulldogs' doctor) and was very familar with my injury.

Seek out expert advice as opposed to a GP, if at all possible.

what caused the injury? I must've missed the post....

I am so paranoid about getting a hernia.....even though it really isn't a big deal.
