AND I've gotten pulled over again.. SAME STUPID cop - TINTS. Idiot.

:worried: dead ones?

I dont know why people are giving you(IP) a hard time. I totally hear where you are coming from. Some local cops are ok here, but most think they have the right to act all hard and tough because they have a badge. If I get pulled over for something I did wrong and get a ticket for it, thats fine. BUT if I get ticket because I was speeding, failure to signal, tints, or whatever other moving violation and get disrespected by the cop, THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!!!

Thank you. it's nice to know someone in here understands where I am coming from. I may have come off on my first post sounding like a bitch but I was just venting and then when I went to explain through out other posts, it seems the conversation got switched over to me being a spoiled brat because I own an Audi. Silly. But, yes - so many police here abuse their power.

about a lot more than that...it's about wether or not people can pick and chose the laws they want to follow.
it's about a bourgesie 'burb chic being inconvinenced by what she considers a lesser being.
this thread has all the elements of a EF 10 pager

That's what you think this thread is about? Please in all honesty, your logic is so flawed. A LOT of people seem to get my point but you don't. Why is that?

I don't think it was about your car at all... who cares what kind of car you drive. really... does not make a person. you were inclined to tell everyone...(which you didn't have to, even if someone asked) you set yourself up. not a big deal.

it's fine you want to have your tints and get away with it. I'd love not to pay my taxes and skate..... laws are enacted for reasons. weather you choose to abide by them, agree or disagree is your choice, you just have to pay the price if you don't. simple. You seem like a really nice girl, I'd hate for you to become the female version of Youngguns.

you have no point, you are just pissy for getting pulled over
and i don't blame you, it does suck and is an annoyance.
but with that being said, you need to brush up on your judical knowledge.
i lol when peeps get pissed at cops for arresting/ticketing them and i used to be guilty of this as well (when i was under 18 and constantly in trouble).
then, thru a great civics teacher and the wisdom that comes with age, i came to fully understand how laws are passed and enforced.
and blaming a police officer for enforcing laws is laughable at best.
he is merely doing what he is told to do...if you wanna be pissed at anyone be pissed at the prosecutor or DA
but leave the wage slave cop outta it, it's tasteless

I think you'll find that a majority of people think you are being pissy because a cop pulled you over for the same reason he did before. Both times a clear violation of the local laws. You flout the Law he is obligated by oath to enforce and then expect him to be civil with you?

As I said before, if I were him, you'd be doing a face plant while I called for backup, if I couldn't readily see into your vehicle.

Tiara or no tiara.

no tint laws in florida is there?
i've seen some pretty blackened windows down that way.
not so in MI, strict on that, same with loud exhaust.
funny how harley guys get a pass on noise but nobody else does

I understand. I feel a lot better in my car with tinted windows. As I said in a previous post - I once had a freakin' weirdo try to get in my car when it was dark out and I was at a red light. I've noticed with my tints that people cannot see in as much and it hasn't happened again. I feel safer at night - no joke. May sound silly but when you've had a wacko try to get in your car, well.. you catch my drift. :)

Here's a clue... Nobody cares how you feel. It's a LAW. You aren't above it. Deal with it.

No tint laws, but cops will hold a heavily tinted vehicle until backup arrives, normally with the driver lying face down with his legs crossed and arms outstretched.

I agree on the Harley thing. You take the baffles out of your muffler, you should be cited.

O M G. For THE last time. I AM NOT PISSED that I was pulled over. I am pissed at the way it was HANDLED. You say that police have a responsibility of enforcing the law.. ok, that's fine but what they DONT have the responsibility of doing is telling you information that is COMPLETELY WRONG. For instance, he told me if I didn't sign the compliance sheet (which you don't have to) that I would then be fined and perhaps further consequences would be at stake. THAT IS 100% WRONG. And he knew that because the minute I told him no, I am not signing that, my brother told me not to sign anything.. he backed away. He did other things as well that were extremely unprofessional. I do not care I was pulled over, I am happy they are doing their job. But, there is no question that this officer totally abused his power.. from him tailgating me 4 blocks to his lies. And yes, he knew what he was doing so he was lying. If an officer doesn't know basic traffic law, then he shouldn't be on the streets and he knew EXACTLY what he was doing.

No offense but I've said this numerous times. I dont care I was pulled over.. I care at how the situation was handled. Understand?

You have obviously missed the entire point of why I am upset. I am not going into it. If you can't get it by now, there's no luck for you there. I'll say it one more time: I am not mad I got pulled over for tints, I am mad for how the situation was handled. End of story.

lmao. Tell ya what... You keep trying to justify your bullshit, if it makes you feel better. What you did was wrong. Calling your brother was a bitch move, whether you feel it was warranted or not. I've read every post in this thread... Yes, I "get it". What baffles me is the fact that you can't understand that you are in the wrong. No more questions. Deal with it in court. Again. And, before you whine anymore, I've lived in places like that too... I know how it is. Shut up already, and face the facts.

most states let the bikes fly due to safety issues. the noise makes them more noticeable to other motorists... now if they go gunning it in a res area, they may get a ticket, but they too can get pulled over any time.

tint laws here are lax because it gets so damn hot here, we actually have a reason for having the tint. 100 is a cool day.

I was at court fo this already and the judge laughed at my ticket. Laughed because she knew she wasn't getting anything out of it and how the cops are there. I am going to face the consequences.. I am fine with it. It's 10 minutes in court. It was wrong of me to call my brother? How so? Don't you think it was wrong for the cop to lie to me, because he thought I didn't know the basic traffic law? Sorry, but there is no reason I should not call my brother if I feel that he is not being honest. What would you tell your daughter if a cop pulled her over and was lying to her about the options that she had? THAT is wrong. I was polite, listened, and if more people had relatives or friends that were lawyers who they could trust and they could call, there would be a LOT less cops getting away with their bullshit. Sorry.

I've lived north of her in Waukegan while i was stationed in the Navy. Gambino is right about the arrogance of the average native of her area. Stereotypical, but definitely within one standard deviation.

If you already knew it was wrong, why call your brother? That was an attempted "power play" on your part... a supposed attempt to intimidate the cop... hence the "bitch move". If you knew for sure it was wrong already, stick to your shit and deal with the cop yourself. Calling your brother was the equivalent of having your daddy call in sick to work for you... Ohhhh, but wait, you've never had a real job, so I guess you don't know how lame that is...

I called my brother TO MAKE SURE. I would HOPE that these cops know what they're talking about and since it had been over a year that I last got pulled over, I might as well check before making an arguement. That would be the smart way to do it. I also called him for other shit that officer told me.. inaccurate crap about keeping my liscense, fines, and my record. So yes, I am 100% GLAD I called him. Lmao - calling my brother is the equivalent of having my daddy call in sick for me? You really lack pure common sense, my friend. No offense but this is completely different. POLICE are KNOWN here to abuse powers. So much more than people think. And oh, I wouldn't know how lame it is to have my dad call in sick for me because that's something that would never happen. I can handle shit on my own, thanks. I guess your daddy must have done that for you when you were a wee kiddy, huh? Did the neighborhood kids make fun of you?

Time to walk my dogs.

Yeah, you're right... I've always had a job, since I was 14 years old. Daddy never bought me a car. And, you are just now getting your first real job? AFTER college?? Hmmm... I really must not know how things work in real life now, huh?

You know what? Your arguement is bullshit. You could have handled all that stuff between getting the ticket, and your court date. Obviously, if the cop was in the wrong, you would have every opportunity to make an ass of him in court, in front of the judge, but... instead, you decided to call your brother, the "attorney" while being pulled over... Sorry, but nobody does that unless you are some kind of prissy bitch trying to get out of a ticket. Everyone else settles their shit in court. I'm sorry if you don't think things work that way, but, welcome to reality...

What part of "I've lived in places like that, I know how it is" didn't you understand? Misusing power? Yeah, I've been there. I've been handcuffed for no reason whatsoever... have you?? Are you trying to make a point? Even then, I dealt with it IN COURT. I didn't make any bitch-ass phone calls trying to intimidate the cops. Nice try, princess...

The reason I know this conversation is about to end is because you really have no clue about basic traffic law. I wouldn't HAVE GOTTEN A court date if I wouldn't have TOLD the officer that he was no correct. He was trying to get me to sign a compliance sheet that stated I was guilty which would dismiss me of my court date. There are other options other than court and the officer was obviously trying to steer me away from court because that means he WOULD HAVE TO BE THERE.

Oh so it's okay to make an ass out of the cop IN COURT? You just totally contradicted yourself. Why does being in court make it any different than not being in court? Why would I be an ass to a cop IN COURT infront of a judge? Lmfao. Seriously.. I'm arguing with someone who really does not understand what goes on around suburban chicago.

Yes. I was very fortunate to not have to work during college since the work load was extremely stressful and I wanted to pull all A's so I could get into the Doctorate program I am in now. So I am VERY thankful that I did not have to work. I had mini short term jobs (danced for bar/bat mitzvah's, worked with disabled children, etc), but never what you (I guess) would call " a REAL job."

I am not worried at all about anything in my future. I get placed in a WONDERFUL internship where I will be getting paid, about a year into my Doctorate program and I am thrilled. I am very happy how my life has gone so if you're trying to make me feel bad or any less of a person because I haven't gotten paid to do work (and I say that because I've done a SHITLOAD of work, called volunteering), you best move on to your next target.

Sake of women? Sorry love, I don't let men try to put me down nor do I allow people who have no idea what they're talking about (the situation) try to make me feel like the entire situation, is my fault. I get what I did wrong (the tints) but I am not stepping down because others have no idea what they are talking about.

When he is in court testifying instead of out on the streets it affects us all. It was perfectly legal to you and appropriate to explain your options on the ticket. Waiving your right to trial is perfectly reasonable in a traffic stop, since you know and admit guilt. You could have just signed the waiver, paid the fine and removed the tint.

They don't testify. This is what happens: I get called to the judge, show her my receipt that I got tints removed, she laughs, dismisses it, I walk out. Literally 5 minutes. No joke. He is just sitting on the side.

The fact was I HAD a right to trial and I didn't want to wave it. So it was perfectly legit. He has EVERY right to tell me ALL my options.. not just one or two and not to lie about my options. I don't sign the waiver for numerous reasons because it claims me guilty. If I go to court, show that they have been removed, everything is dismissed. That does not happen on a waiver (here at least). :) I'm fine going to court.

Doesn't hurt anyone and it would cost me a shitload more to take my tints off than what I paid to put them on. Let me ask you this, do you go 5 over the speed limit? Have anything that is slightly illegal? Give me a break... tints are the least of worries. And mine aren't even pitch black.

lol perhaps you should simply schedule a standing appt for a court hearing because you will likely continue to get pulled over for tints as long as you have them and it's against the law.

the tints are only against the law if they're on the front windows, right? and if they're on the back but a certain darkness?

If I get ticket for doing five over the speed limit I would pay the fine, I wouldn't lie to the judge and say I wasn't speeding.

You do realize you are lying to a judge when you say you removed the tint.

Holy shit. Get a grip, woman. As much as I hate to admit it, I've been in court for traffic violations more times than you've probably been pulled over for that stupid ass tint you so proudly refuse to get rid of...

You would get a court date if you disputed the ticket. Plain and simple. The only way you would not get the court date is if you complied and just paid the damn fine and pleaded "guilty". Yeah, the cop would have had to show up in court. Duh. They usually don't show up, which means that if you did show up, your dumb ass would have been off the hook, regardless.

How does making an ass of the cop (assuming he was TRULY in the wrong, and actually did show up for the court date) in court NOT make a difference?? If you are a bitch to the cop when he pulls you over, guess who knows about it?? Ummm... You, and the cop. In front of a Judge, you get to redeem yourself, and, if you are indeed innocent, maybe... just maybe, that same cop will hesitate just a little more next time he sees you roilling down the street in your "tinted out, paid for by daddy" car. Just a thought.

Now, specifically... I mean, in detail... tell me how I contradicted myself.

the tints are only against the law if they're on the front windows, right? and if they're on the back but a certain darkness?
Well for SUV's. My car can't have them I don't think on any window. I only have two windows on the side and one on the back. I don't mind - it court once every year-2.

I feel safer in my car with tints because as I have said numerous times before I like how at night, no one can see in. I had some freakin weirdo attempt to get into my car late at night when I was at a red light (prior to tints) and if I HAD tints, I doubt he would have done that because he wouldn't know if it was a female or male. Weirdos out there.

I love the fact that you cannot restrain yourself from making a comment about "daddy's car, spoiled this and that.." This isn't what we are talking about and you don't bother me by your comments. Are you upset that you didn't have a car bought for you when younger? I mean come on.. this isn't legit in this conversation - not ONE bit. Keep bringing it up though because I find it entertaining.. you seem to have a lot of anger in you.

Not at all. I earned my car. I could care less about yours. It is the rest of this that screams "I'm a spoiled bitch".

I'm still waiting to hear how, exactly, I contradicted myself. Please, indulge me.

No offense, but you seem to be EXTREMELY bored and you're not even worth it. Do you see how many posts are in this thread? I've explained the situation over and over.. and you still don't get it.

I have a HARD time believing that you have not done anything illegal, have anything illegal, etc. Please. You're bitching about tints?

Btw - I may be spoiled but my character is what counts. I've probably done more charity work, volunteering, BENEFITING society, than most people I know. I've had experience from working with homeless people, disabled children, mentally ill, to shelters, hospitals, and more. Just because a person is "spoiled," doesn't mean that their characted/personhood lacks (as you seem to think). So I get things.. big deal - it's my attitude and effort to do good for others, that counts. I'd rather be spoiled than be a person who is ripping on a spoiled girl for reasons they have no idea about (oh because you make a generalization since i got a car). WOW.

It's bad there but they are clearing it out. I used to duck when driving by there. Seriously.. they've had lots of shootings. I rarely drove by there though.

I never claimed to be innocent. I spent a night in jail last week. Still, I didn't call my "lawyer" brother and try to intimidate the cop. I'm dealing with that now... and the cop will look like a fool in court. Hell, if you REALLY wanna know, I had a police record in the 6th grade... Anything else?

Just because you volunteer your time, does not negate the fact that you did something wrong... Stop acting like it does. I don't care how many homeless fucking puppies you helped nurture back to health, if a cop wants to pull you over for having tinted windows, he has every right... I never said your character "lacks" because you are spoiled. What I did say, was that your charater "lacks".... spoiled or not.

Lmao - you are going by the LITERAL meaning of the dictionary. Tell me (maybe in your world the people do this) - do you REALLY take what people say LITERALLY? Is that how our society speaks? LMFAO. You and all those crazy Bible fanatics who read the Bible by literal meaning. Last post to you - I laugh so thank you for the entertainment.

Are you telling me that Perjury is acceptable behavior? Civil disobedience of a Law you disagree with is one thing. Perjury is a whole new ball game.

I was pointing out yet more irony because you dont know what spoiled means yet you are in the psychology field. There is no other definition for the word spoiled, literally or figuratively, it means lacking character. If someone was given things all their life and didnt have to work but yet their character was still intact, then no they wouldnt be spoiled. The fact that you claim to be spoiled yet still have good character doesnt make sense. And yes, when there are no figurative or inferred meaning, I take what people say literally, and if you plan to go into the psychology field you should probably know what the word spoiled means before you throw it out as a trait of someone you are counseling.

Good thing you aren't a psychologist, my friend.

As for your last sentence, you would be a shitty psychologist if you are going to throw out words such as those. P.S. I know what it means.. it actually has multiple meanings. Spoiled means you are GIVEN something when you don't necessarily earn it - a person can be spoiled (given things) but their character can still be intact and not flawed.

No kidding Im not a psychologist, that would involve going into a pseudo-scientific field, at best. I am still correct in pointing out what the difference between words like "spoiled" (character related only) and "indulged" (what you are). Look it up anywhere, you cant be spoiled without having character flaws, because thats the very definition of what spoiled means. Im actually helping you out here so you wont refer to yourself as spoiled anymore.
