I just started my 1st cycle of anavar- 5 mg a day. Just wondering if its ok to have a glass of wine once or twice a week? Also, when do results start showing? thanks!! :)

No wine var is hard enough on your liver and alcohol kills muscle gains. Strength gains show in 2 weeks as long as diet is in check and so is train you should be able to see it in 2 weeks as well.

Okay- no alcohol- but what about the holidays?? Will it really hurt just a couple?

That is up to you me personaly I would never plan a cycle over the holidays. But yes even just a couple hurts like I said alcohol kills musle gains even just a little.

dena - let us know how you are doing. I am starting my program too! I just threw out the last bottle of wine. Straight and narrow for the next 12 weeks for me!

The most challenging part of cycling is not the ingesting / injecting of the supp, but rather running your every day life to support the cycle. Putting stuff like wine into your system while cycling will further (and unnecessarily) stress your system. Unless you are a real abuser of your body, its not like you die or anything from couple glasses of wine. But the idea is that if you are going to cycle, you are going to cycle. "Plan your cycle, cycle your plan." And treat your body especially well because of the stress you are putting it thru w/ the cycle. The results you get out are what you put in. Anything less than optimal will get you exactly less than optimal results.

A glass of melot or cab isn't a problem. The hepatic stress of 5 mg/d of OX is pretty low. The small amt of alcohol from a glass of wine isn't going to put anyone's hepatic function over the edge unless there's some serious underlying disease to begin with. In fact, the anti-oxidant effect of resveratrol in the red wine may actually be somewhat protective, particularly with the drop in HDL with oral AAS.

Don't sweat a glass here and there, just not the whole bottle every night.

Wohoo! Party on dude!

.. everything in moderation of course.

Question - if you are running non-optimal things through your liver, do you want to consider additional water intake to help flush it out?
