anavar for endurance athletes

woof

New member
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone on this site was familiar w/ the use of anavar to aid in recovery of intense endurance workouts (thus allowing one to train at a higher level, more often) as opposed to packing on muscle. In fact, gaining too much muscle weight would a drawback. Last winter I read about this on the "sports" board, but there did not appear to be any women involved in the discussion (all male cyclists and triathletes) and I was wondering about dosage - if the full 10-15mg/day recommended for bodybuilding/bulking would be necessary or if a smaller dose would do the job. Thanks.

Woof, there was an awesome thread about this, and I can't find it now. I believe the conclusion was that a very low dose of REAL var, coupled with creatine, was the magic potion. I want to see it was around 5-10mg a day, but don't quote me on that. Maybe W6 will pop in with some inisght.

bump, for W6!

Thanks, spatts. Since Im not platinum, I couldn't find much by searching. Back when I lifted a lot, I tried creatine and didn't think it worked for me. I had been at a plateau in bench for a few months (155lb x 5) at the time and after creatine only moved up to 160x5, which I atttributed more to it just being about time to move up. I did gain a few #s of H20, though.

Anyone else know anything about this usage of var? Thanks.

I think 5 to 10 mg a day would definitely help with recovery after a taxing workout or event. It would help you retain muscle during weight loss so you would carry less body fat, which might be a plus for your sport. On 10 mg a day a blood test showed some of my electrolyte levels a little screwed up, I was a little worried how that would affect endurance on a hot day, if that would be a pre-disposition to mild heat stroke.

Thanks CB. Interesting about the electrolytes - I lose salt at an amazing rate when it's really hot out and am just getting a handle on that problem now. If I do choose to try it, however, (not sure yet) I would be using it in the late winter/ early spring when its cold for a build-up period and not during competition, when its hot.
