Doing a Photo shoot on the sunday after the competition and I wanted some tips, advice, anything any of you ladies can offer up as to good colors, makeup, ideas on outfits, hair... etc

I haven't taken professional pics since my Sr. ones...yikes!

it all will depend where the photo shoot is going to be... at the gym, at the event, different location...? sometimes when at the event the photographers usually prefer the posing suit you have used for the competition, when at different location you can get different outfits. where is it going to be? on the other hand, what are you competing in?

The shoot will be at his studio.. some taken outside on the Lake and some inside. I will take a few shots with my suits also.

I'm doing a figure Comp

I'm not doing a figure comp or fitness shoot. However, I was told to get tips done (which, I don't want to do, but I will be holding something - so it was strongly recommended). Have you met with the photographer? Are they going to provide a make-up artist or will you have to hire one? I needed to hire one because of my facial features.

It would be convenient to talk with the photographer or contact person to know first what are they expecting from the pictures, based on that you ca you have a wide variety of things to choose.

Anyways, when I get my photo this is always what I carry:

* 2 posing suits (choose the ones that favour you)
I usually try to get different colours from the usual ones other girls have, in order
to stand out. In this case, I get the black just as a back up.
* 2-3 fitness suits
As the ones you use for the gym, but bring the sexiest ones. If I'm too lean and
want to appear bigger I try to avoid dark colours.
* shoes
As shoes take a lot of space in the bag, I only get two pairs (tenis and high heels)

Regarding makeup, try to get your makeup done before the shoots, and you can use body shimmers (I think this is how you call them) for making your skin shine without making it seem oily.

As you mention they will be at a studio, they'll probably have lights so just remember to keep almost the same tone of makeup as in stage so that your face doesnt look washed out.

For hair, if you're doing splits, handstands, etc. for photo shoots it is better to have it styled so as not getting all your hair in the face. If you'll be just posing then you have more options. Sometimes with all time rushing I just do a pony tail and put a hair clip (don't know if this is how you call them) they are those of fake hair that are already styled and are like hair extensions... of course similar to my hair tone.

Hope this helps

Not much time to comment now girl, but Congrats! I love photo shoots...have a few coming up, but not comp related... PM with any thing you need

- Best of luck sweets :rose:

you should really talk to the photographer to see what he is looking for if he is going to use the images etc... if its just for you then whatever you want...

my suggestions for outdoor bikini shots get yourself some babyoil in the gel type so that you muscles will pop out in the sun...

also if you dont have a makeup artist dont use your normal amount of make up. You want to be a little heavy with it because of the lighting. Your eyes are important to go a little heavy on because the lighting can often make you look tired so adding a little extra will give them a pop. I will often wear fake eyelashs to help with this...
