Active Recovery Work

I dont do it myself because I dont make the time for it but twice weekly swims are probably the best active recovery possible.

I agree to an extent but; HIIT stands for "high intensity interval training." Anything done at a high intensity will wear down your muscles. Sprinting will always delay the healing process.

Low to medium intensity will assist by increasing blood flow etc but high would interfere.

I bought a prowler about a year ago. One of the smartest equipment purchases I have ever made. Nothing has kept my hips more mobile, and I can say unequivocally that it has really contributed a lot to my power out of the hole. Not to mention many of the strongman events.

Plenty of research from Dave Tate, Jim Wendler and others states otherwise. Again, your body will adapt. You really think that 15 minutes is gonna ruin you?

You can include in that list Zatsiorsky, Kraemer, and Everett.

Oh, and just about any strongman out there. Think about what they do and how they have to train. They don't just pull a truck one time and call it a day, or do one stone medley and go home.

Now you are just name dropping. LOL Good list!

We underestimate what the body can do. We have to be careful not to undertrain it to the part of deconditioning. Active assessment and sound recovery techniques will help.

Can you imagine what more people could do if they took the time to read those guys and not just apply their ideas, but REALLY think about them?

How about running a mile three times a week?

HAHA you're such a bodybuilder Alc - that's like 30 mins cardio a week tops!

You'll want to do plenty more if it's running.

ALSO - recovery work should be 99% concentric. Bike riding, swimming and sled dragging have virtually no eccentric component meaning muscle is not being torn down.
