Acne treatments

A lot of good suggestions.

About facials--it is an excellent idea to get a facial PRIOR to starting a tanning session, be it indoors or out. The facial will irritate the skin, deeply cleanse it; the tanning will help heal it..my esthetist taught me this. You also may want to explore oxysoralen or trisoralen to prevent burning. As a last resort, see a dermatologist for the latest acne treatments--if you go, just tell the Doc that you have tried every home remedy and nothing worked, and that you have always had PERSISTENT ACNE; no need to mention the AAS.

renova

I'm using renova -- only a couple of weeks into it. It did a good job on the pimples (relatively) but my skin got pretty red. Anyone else tried this stuff? It's expensive!

I used a topical antibiotic for a while. I also tried relaxing a bit more. Don't try any scrubs for some time, as they make break out worse. Retin-A will work, but it will take weeks to see any improvement and you'll have to keep using it. Wash face with hot water to get rid of the oil and rinse with cold to close the pores. Apply moisturizer. Drink plenty of water
