Acne treatments

Ladies what do you suggest for the breakouts, my skin is constantly oily, and pimples are popping out all over the place, on my face.... Is retin a okay to use.The winny is causing the breakouts

Start taking acidopholus...intestinal flora imbalances can lead to acne. I use it to control cystic acne (none if I take it daily!) I'm not sure what the winny does to the system exactly, but it's inexpensive and good for you regardless.

I like Cleocin T..it won't leave any permanent damage to the skin like retin-a can. Also, check out retin-a micro..may be less damaging. Suggest using head and shoulders and a conditioner for your hair and shower often.

I have never used it for this purpose , but if you take acidopholus make sure you keep it refrigerated unlike silly me!

I have never had better skin since I started using ProActive last year. It really clears you up without over-drying and it also helps to reduce any red marks left over from old pimples. Even if you skin gets oily it will prevent bacteria from growing. Best of all they have a money back guarantee. Try it for a couple of months - I'm sure you'll be hooked!

I had really bad acne until 30+. I don't know how the winny may be interacting, but I had good results using all the 'good' oils (which are doing anyway, right?) you know, flax, avacardo, evening primrose etc. The skin also needs all that water we're supposed to be drinking. I also made sure I got enough zinc (for the blood).

But, now I'll be really honest, the thing that made a significant difference for me was to completey cut out dairy. I even had to stop yogurt. I really notice it, even if I treat myself to one measy cappacino! Anyone have any ideas as to why...?

sww

OK this is interesting. I used to go to a dermatologist for bad acne (cystic) before. I was prescribed all the antibiotics in the book, all the topical lotions in the bookand eventually accutane. Nothing worked until I got to accutane, but how horrible was that ocupleof months. Then it came back. Now it's gone...with plain old water and nothing too harsh. I have always got pimples, I always have at least one somewhere. Just live with it i guess.
Tanning helps too btw. In moderation. My doctor actually suggested it unofficially of course.

But i have never heard acidopholus, can you get that from a pharmacy?

And the proactive. I went to the spa for a facial and you know how they alwasy try o sell you tons of product? well she didnt, she recommended proactive! She sais she has clients who swear by it. I think i'm going to try it. I've always been wary of Infomercial type stuff.

ANother thing is dairy. I have hears so many people talk about how everything improved int heir life since they took out dairy form their diet, from skin to other ailments.

Maybe that DRJ would have some input here?

And b5 too I will check out...

Great info..more than my doc!

TV -- You can usually get acidophilus at a nutrition or health food store, in the refrigerated section. Also supposed to be useful for yeast infections.

I can totally relate. After my cycle of winny I'm having serious breakouts on my jawline and back. I just went to the dermatoligist and he recommended an antibiotic and a topical lotion.

I've used proactivr and at first my skin cleared, but then it had gotten worse again so I sent it back!

He told me to wash with baby shampoo, never soap, which a former dermatoligist had recommended 'Dove'

Also the doc(new) told me not to go get facials until my skin clears up because all they'll do is irritate the skin more.

Good luck!
