abdominals

Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on toning abdominals. How many times a week, and what are some good exercises? I do abs eod right now. Also I know it involves dieting and cardio, how many min. of cardio is good to tone up... Any advice would be great.

There's no such thing as toning.

If you want to lose fat there, you'll need to lose fat everywhere. No such thing as target burning fat either.

A "cutting" diet and weight training (total body) should do the trick. :)

nikki... the abs require resistance....be it , your body weight and or weighted exercises....with this you can have the six-pac of bricks that Brickgirl walks around with....YUM!!!!!

If my memory serves me correctly, BG just does a few basic exercises - for like 5 minutes a couple times a week. Her ab results are about 99% diet related. :)

Might I add that some women do not have the genetics for "washboard" abs. Of course I did not see where you mentioned wanting that. Also, BrickGirl is a competitor and has refined her diet first and foremost for her famous abdominals. That said, I have to agree whole heartedly with Spatts and Daisy_Girl. Tune in your diet and crank up the weight and/or resistance training. Cardio helps some people, others it does not. YOu may need a little trial and error to find what works for you. Good luck and hope this helps!:)

true daisy- but to get th ab muscles developed beyond the normal look, resistance must be applied....the more developed the muscle tissue is, the more pronounced they will look...you are very correct tho, as far as getting the layer of fat down so that they are visable in the first place....
