ABC News Smuggles Depleted Uranium in Border Security Test - Associated Press

I imagine such an explosion would do too much damage to the plane, but I really don't know.

Ignorant man talking. Anyway, I don´t know. Seems like you could use enough to blow the door without much extra damage. Perhaps a shape charge would be in order? Point is, in my un expertise it is totally possible AND the most important thing, the weapons you need to hold the plane hostage ARE ALREADY ON THE PLANE. You just need to get to them.

I know nothing about explosives and terrorism, but how hard would it be to get a little plastique on the plane with something to detonate it and blow that door right off, both allowing access to the controls and stunning the pilots... who very nicely brought guns on board for you to hold everyone hostage?

This is why a sky marshall(s) should be on the plane, to help deter anything that may occur outside of the cabin.

Cameras that monitor outside the cabin, that the pilots may view, would also help, as would their ability to carry firearms. If none of these helped, then you did all that was possible and your fucked. You don't live in a perfect world.

I think if this was done, then we could fire the majority of these worthless animals that are screening luggage and persons.

didnt they install like big ass iron doors on these cockpits only accessible by key or the inside? it seems incredulous they havent done so
haha, it all comes down to money. those doors of which you speak cost a lot, plus it means removing seats. nobody wants to pay for it, not even the government considering the airline companies are pretty much subsidised.

lol......good point. maybe extend the cabin further....or make it like an airlock thing with 2 doors, so no-one can just burst in

as fior the mile high club.....make sure the co pilot is a woman or its te five knuckle shuffle i guess :D

All you need is a breaching charge. Pretty small and mostly: effective.

darn. someone managed to smuggle on a replica gun (i.e. BB) to a plane recently on here, in their hand luggage

if they can get a gun on board, i guess a charge wouldnt be so bad

Here's a slightly off subject note. Bush lies about Iraq evidence. The IAE report/satellite photo he talked about showing evidence of Iraq efforts of producing nukes, showed nothing new, or any developments that was supposedly the proof. When he made his speech yesterday, the IAE refuted his contention, and the White House acknowledged (yesterday evening) that it was a conclusion created by them, not the pictures, or the report.

It's clearly obvious there is no "new evidence" to back his/Cheney's plans for war........I hope that whoever is tasked with conducting hearings will address ALL of these issues, and present the whole picture to the American public. At least the ones who are too ignorant to do anything but form an opinion based on the war drum rhetoric these idiots have cultivated over the last 9 months.

the airlines should be the ones responsible for the safety of their passengers and others when they put a huge flying missile in the air.

I am not scared about some terrorists boarding my plane , I am more concerned about the safety of actually flying with all the stress on terrorism.
