A little frustrated

Hi,

I'm trying to gain 15 pounds of muscle, but have a very
fast metabolism. Right now I am 5'11, 150.

I have cleaned my diet up well - It's very healthy. The problem
is I don't have the time or money to eat ENOUGH food to gain
mass.

So I recently decided to add Champion Super Weight Gainer
1200. I take one a day with water, so that's 900 calories right
there. This is my second day and the bottle says I should see
results in a month.

But now I feel like I'm defeating myself --- I have a very healthy
diet, but then I drink a SUGAR filled gainer.

I kind of feel like the gainer is my only option, but I'm wondering
if saturating my body with sugar every day is worth the weight gain.

I'm frustrated because I'm tired of being underweight and I want
to stick to a plan of action for once --- especially because I work
at a health club and I'm embarassed to be so thin.

I do a very intense 45-minute workout 3 days a week.

Anybody ever experienced the same frustrations?

Thanks for any advice!

HAHA, WELCOME TO THE CLUB.....15 LBS. OF LEAN MUSCLE TISSUE, WE ARE TALKING LEAN HERE, IS GOING TO TAKE QUITE A WHILE. EVEN PROS ON ALL TYPES OF SHIT TAKE A WHILE TO PUT ON THAT AMOUNT OF "LEAN" MASS.

I have cleaned my diet up well - It's very healthy. The problem

mass. WHAT DOES YOUR DIET LOOK LIKE. YOU MAY THINK IT'S GREAT, BUT IT MAY BE SHORTCHANGING YOU.

So I recently decided to add Champion Super Weight Gainer
1200. TOTAL CRAP SHIT.

I take one a day with water, so that's 900 calories right
there. This is my second day and the bottle says I should see
results in a month. YEAH, YOU'LL SEE YOUR STOMACH HANG OUT OVER YOUR BELT, YOUR CHEST LOOK LIKE TITS, AND YOUR FACE GET FAT.

But now I feel like I'm defeating myself --- I have a very healthy
diet, but then I drink a SUGAR filled gainer. YEAH, WHY NO JUST EAT KRISPY KREME DOUGHNUTS AND DRINK PROTEIN SHAKES W/THEM, SAME SHIT BASICALLY.

I kind of feel like the gainer is my only option, but I'm wondering
if saturating my body with sugar every day is worth the weight gain.

IF YOU WANT SLOPPY WEIGHT GAIN, FINE. PROTEIN BUILDS MUSCLE, NOT SUGAR.

I'm frustrated because I'm tired of being underweight and I want
to stick to a plan of action for once --- especially because I work
at a health club and I'm embarassed to be so thin. AGAIN, POST YOUR DIET, AND IT HAS TO BE ONE THAT YOU DO DAY IN, DAY OUT, FOR MONTHS ON END. IF YOU START, GIVE UP AFTER A WHILE, THAT DOES NOTHING. MANY SAY THEY CAN'T GAIN WEIGHT, BUT THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS THEY ARE NOT APPROACHING IT NEARLY AS THEY SHOULD.

sc,

Thanks for your help. I am eating all the foods recommended
on here, but definitely not enough in quantity.

Once I settle on a routine diet, I'll be sure to post it here.

Do you recommend protein shakes? Or should I stick totally
with food?

I think a part of me is lazy and thinks shakes and gainers are
the easy way. But I realize most things worth working for in
life don't come easy.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Real food is great of course, but there is nothing wrong w/a quality low carb protein powder w/a healthy EFA in it to supply Kcals that will benefit you. You also assure yourself a complete amino acid pool when you do this. Those sugar laden weight gainers are all hype, and they do lead to the wrong kind of weight gain.

Weight-gain formula is ultimately what fucked up my first attempt at bodybuilding. It said to mix 5 scoops with regular milk and drink it 1 hour before and 1 hour after workout. It worked for the first couple months but eventually led to a raised resting heart rate and fat build-up around waist and legs.

Probably best staying well away from them, not worth the risk of all the sugar.

Just make your own freaking weight-gainer: blend milk, oats, peanut butter (natty) [or Udo's Choice oil) and whey. Cheap and a shitload of clean calories.

Adjsut the amount of individual ingredients to fit your caloric intake, of course.
