5x5 old school routine from cornholio

Hi.
i got some questions about his routines:
1. this program is mainly for building mass, right?
2. why only 3-4 exercises on munday-thursday? isn't that a bit too few to add mass, when training each body part only once a week? when i was doing each body part once a week, i did about 4-5 exercises per body part...
3. why always 6-12 or 10-12 reps? are you really going to (seriously) add mass with that?

Is it an excellent routine, and is good if you want to switch up your routine when you stop gaining, do it for 8wks and then switch routines.

some more questions:
did you do it EXACTLY how cornholio explained it?
and what kind of training program should i do after the 8 weeks? endurance training for 4 weeks and then do 5x5 mass gaining again for 8 weeks?

one more question: when i was doing a self made 5x5 program (doing 5-8 rep sets), i gained about 8-10 lbs in 1 month. but then i broke my arm and lost almost all of these 8-10 in a few weeks. when i did the program, i was taking creatine. so were those 8-10 lbs that i gained just water which i lost or did i really lose muscle mass? i don't know, but if lost mostly muscle mass, i'd know that this program was very effective for me since i would have then gained 8-10 lbs of MUSCLE MASS and not WATER. i'd do this program again...
