who smokes regularly and still excels in the gym? And has anyone notice it hinders them? I smoke after a workout, never before. The night before, yes. I havent had a problem with anything. Actually me and my buddy were doing a little test, and it seems to be working. Basically smoking, eating alot and sleeping alot. Our strength and size has been increasing more quicker than normal.

I just wanted some thoughts and opinions about this.
 
I enjoy it from time to time but I recently read that it reduces natural testosterone and can cause gyno..

I am scared shitless of gyno so I still havn't decided on it yet.
 
really? i mean, ive been smoking for months on end... how would i know if my test levels are being effected?

ummm I think it wold be safe to say that the strength and size increase was due to the extra food and sleep you are getting, not smoking pot. ;)

Thats what im saying, im using pot for that reason, other wise I wouldnt be able to eat and sleep enough. Its actually helping, AND its fun.

Ok sure.. wink, wink, if that's how you want to justify your new habit, lol

That's like saying "I've been tired at the gym lately so I started doing a few lines of coke to get energy. Therefore coke has helped me get bigger"

There is no direct corlation between Smoking pot and muscle/ strength gain.

No, its a crutch. But its working! :heart:
 
I just did a quick bit of research and it seems that you can find studies that say it does lower test and you can find studies that say it does not lower test. I feel certain that, at the very least, it would hinder your cardio.

Never before... only after. Helps quiet the CNS overload and relax. Better sleep. Also never in excess. If you would not have a drink at a given time or place ( while driving or before work) then don't smoke. I've smoked for over 35 years and trained the whole time. No issue. Other "recreatonal" drugs - big issue - just say no.
 
As long as you keep it under control you will be fine.

I personally don't like smoking because of how it makes my brain function slower, but I totally understand that people want to use it to relax. Have fun, eat well, and don't get caught with the weed bro.

This site says pot has no estrogenic activity. And several studies have shown no significant effect on testosterone levels. Im not sure what to believe, but I feel fine.

It may not have any negative effects chemically as far as lifting goes, but it doesn't have any positive effects either.

It's like a hobby, I relax by racing motorcycles, but it doesn't help or hinder my muscle growth. Same with smoking bud. It's just a hobby.
 
If you smoke make sure you stay hydrated. Pot tends to dry you out, and it doesn't help when you forget to drink lol. I am not a head, but I will burn some kind on the weekend. I don't drink and I think that an occasional smoke is less detrimental to my goals than say drinking a 6 pack. The one thing about pot for me is it does me the opposite of what most people claim. It actually kills my appetite and I can't sleep after a few tokes to save my life.
 
used to do it regularly. smoked for years and years on a daily basis. pre-workout was a good time. since quitting i have noticed it is easier to drop bf and there is no difference in strength or size - that is all due to diet, period.

be careful with becoming a daily smoker. changes your moods and rewires your brain. youll find pleasure in nothing if it becomes a daily thing. that, and youll never sleep the same again.

Most potheads I know/have known, are/were slackers - including my former self.
Get off the pot if you want to maximize your life experience.

As far as pot lowering your natural test levels - just shoot a gram of Omnadren EW and don't worry about it - lol.

I too find if I smoke before I hit the gym that instead of it getting tough at rep 7 or 8, it's at 5 or 6. MJ does make the average person experience a "lazy feeling" after smokin. Otherwise, I don't see it affecting my fitness whatsoever. I stick with night time for smokin.
