If you have no cardiac issues, it should not be a problem - obviously, your heart was not in distress or you would have felt it. In general, if your body can handle it without distress, you're fine - back off if it causes issues.
As an example, my brother has a cardiac abnormality such that when he goes into anaerobic training zone (no longer aerobic - usually around HR 165 for him), his heart rate jumps to 220-222 and pegs there until he drops out of the activity. It doesn't seem to affect his heart, but his blood pressure goes sky-high and his lungs start to bleed from the over-pressure (coughing up blood). Now, that's an issue!
