got my second shot today (primo)... it is 5 hours later and my ass is still kinda burning... i've been rubbing... what's the deal? The first shot i didn't even feel. Is this common? Thanks guys.

Well, I've never done primo, but I hear it hurts like hell. What I do know is that one of my 'cheeks' hurts, and the other doesn't.

Certain spots on your body are going to be more sensitive than others.

The pain should go away, and if it doesn't, it could be an abcess. But I would not worry.

Some people report pain from Primo. You could try taking a warm bath and that may help. Good Luck!

Fairly common. Some drugs hurt more than others but it always varies with each injection. Some very benign drugs hurt sometimes. Keep in mind that you are driving a needle through your muscle fibers.

I am one of those individuals who got quite a sting off primo. The fact that you never on the first but did on the second probably has something to do with injection technique the time round.

My 3rd shot was just like the first... no pain at all and no sting... I feel great!!! My 4th is tomorrow... wish me luck...

come on pimpin... give me a little credit... i only use my glutes, but yes it was a different spot, don't really want the scar tissue either...

If you went from R Glute to L Glute, your injection technique may not have been as clean with your off hand. I agree with Iron Game that if you didn't feel anything the first time, it is unlikely that the Primo stung more the second time unless the area was sensitive from a prior injection or you just got an area more dense in nerves. Personally, I have to give an area 10 days to 2 weeks before shooting there again to avoid extra sensitivity. Also, I like to poke the injection area with my index finger to feel for nerve density, and try to locate a "dead" spot.

Sometimes, extra movement with the needle or piercing a vein will cause extra pain. Check for swelling or bruising.

hint... alternate left & right sides.. also if you stand on the leg that your are NOT sticking and relax the side that you are.. you may experience less pain ... the more relaxed the muscle tissue, the easier the penetration and less pain.alo a good 1 min rub after the stick will help... good luck..right Mikey?

hey pimp... since i am shooting every 4 days, i don't have the luxury to wait for more recovery, but i am hitting different spots every time.. Since i am not doing the injecting myself but having a friend do it for me... i think that maybe i was a little too tense the 2nd time or because the 3rd time was fine... i lifted my leg and had it relaxed again... I think it was just a random sore ass from the shot day... oh well.. can't always be a perfect prick.... shit if there were perfect pricks i would be married by now lol Thanks for all the help guys

If you naturally tense up in anticipation, take your glutes shot laying on your side or stomach next time. When you say different spots, I assume you mean the other ass cheek (anywhere on the same cheek can remain tender after only 4 days) which gives you 8 days rest between shots---that's sufficient.

Try some ice and ibuprofen for the inflammation. Chances are you nicked a blood vessel or nerve and they are just trying you to tell you.

ok.. my 4th shot i actually did all by myself!!! So kudos to me :) Also, there was no pain at all... then i went and did cardio like a mad woman. I did however decide thanks to you guys that i am gonna alternate cheeks every shot, just to give more time to heal and less scar tissue. So thanks to all for the concern and of course offers for massages lol
