ok. i've been back and forth between training for size/muscularity and strength so many times. and i've said this so many times it's making me sick. but i really can't make up my mind. it's hard to because i have a LOT of potential in anything that i do. my life also revolves around the iron game so the dedication is there. my genetics are very good.
we know that you can't be best at both powerlifting and bodybuilding. so to be the best, you'd have to choose one or the other.
what i've come up with was this: training for size/muscularity in the spring/summer and then training for bench contests and some size/muscle thickness in the fall and winter.
the DC program looks like it's working awesome for size, and since its about making PRs every week, be it reps or weight, it couldn't hurt for strength.
the metal militia style for bench training is working insanely well. i'm sure theres a way to intertwine the two in the later part of the year. with training only bench for strength in the later part of the year, it leaves a day or two for training for legs or other body parts. hell, i could even use some board presses for tricep work on DC program.
i'm not doing this until next year, as i have a bench contest coming up in june. we know i'm a flubber boy, but since i'm training for that contest, i can't really diet much. what i am doing is doing wind sprints on my off days, sometimes HIIT (dumbbell snatches, burpees, etc for cardio) and eating clean.
ask me some questions or give me suggestions so i can fine-tune this please. if you have the urge to call me retarded, go for it. i totally understand. lol
