200lbs Dumbbells

Beast, wanna mix it up...try 5 sets of standing db shoulder presses next delt day. My shoulders have been growing slow for a year now and about two weeks ago i threw these in. Holy shit! Having to walk through doors sideways now and my bench is creeping up again.

Awesome brother!! Might give those a try. The only thing that might be a problem is the pressure on the lower back. Ive had to work around the lower back injury lately to keep from repulling it. With a belt I might be able to do them. Probabally not to failure though. If I can press 100lb dumbells for 8-12 reps seated, what should I use standing? Im sure Id have to lighten them up a good deal. ThanX again brother!

I started with the 70's and had problems hitting 5x5 at first. I'm doing them on shoulder and leg day (just trying to confuse my body a little) and i got the 90's for 5x5 this morning. Didn't know about the back issue, might wanna stay clear of them for awhile because they do stress the hell out of the lumbar region.

Nice weight brother! Yes, I need to be careful with what I do now, with the back issue. I dont even do heavy barbell curls much at the moment anymore. Used to like to swing the heavy weights up. Ill have to work around it until it heals up. Ill probabally avoid them for a while. I feel the seated ones a good deal also. Keep KILLING that shit brother!!

Recently at my gym they added to their collection of dumbells they brought in 140lbs to 220lbs. I have asked for years if they could add 12.5lbs, 17.5lbs, 22.5lbs & 27.5lbs to their inventory with no luck. I cant imagine over 3-4 guys in my gym that can even use these monsters and we do have a huge membership.

I was curious how many guys on this board think they could utilize 200lb dumbells?

Try using platemates - you can buy your own if you'd like.

Personally, I own a set of 8 220s and I use them for juggling.

my gym is hardcore they go to 180lbs. I got to 130lbs flat presses for 5. Used the 170lbs for 8 shrugs. I only saw about 3-4 guys actually use the 180's for flat benching.

my gym in alaska went to 120 which i used for shrugs, then i had to move onto barbell shoulder shrugs. i prefer dumbells for shrugs though.

Golds is adding DBs up to 250s this month!! theres prob less than a dozen guys that will use them ;)

I'm sure quite a few will attempt them, most will fail. 250's are beasts! The logs we use for farmers walks are 257 each and i can't imagine trying to bench with them. Insane!

cool..seems most are using the heavy db's for shrugs..which is fine but that really isnt impressive to me..

Ms bev if you got 6 guys in your gym that will use them for something other than shrugs..thats awesome ;)
