200lbs Dumbbells

Laser

New member
Recently at my gym they added to their collection of dumbells they brought in 140lbs to 220lbs. I have asked for years if they could add 12.5lbs, 17.5lbs, 22.5lbs & 27.5lbs to their inventory with no luck. I cant imagine over 3-4 guys in my gym that can even use these monsters and we do have a huge membership.

I was curious how many guys on this board think they could utilize 200lb dumbells?

I've never tried the 200's for anything other than farmers walk training and shrugs. I have seen a guy that works for Europa get them for 4 on flat, pretty damn impressive.

my gym has the 2.5 increments but DBs only go to 120 or so. There aren't any super strong guys there anyway.

Highest they go at my current gym is 120's, which suck. They're the rubber-coated kind, so they're so damn wide I can't balance them at the top of a lift over 100lbs. When I lifted at Gold's, I used the heaviest db's they had there, 150's, but only for my heaviest sets of flat bench while on cycle. Otherwise, I just used them for db rows and shrugs. I can't imagine needing 200's more than 20's and 30's, so many more people use the smaller weights... be cool to see someone hoist those monsters though :)

My gym only goes to 120 which I'm sure I can do, but I've never done more than the 110s for my working sets.

Gunter has used my gym for the past few years, but a guy by the name of Chris Cook seemed to show up about the same time as the new dumbbells. I'm not sure who he is but he definitley looks like he could give Gunter a run for the money
