200+ gm protien how??

reconnect

New member
how do you manage to eat like 300-400gm a day?? im trying to eat as much as possible but i really get over 220gm:confused:

A couple of good protein shakes a day will do the trick!!! I usually get 120 to 180 grams just from my shakes (2-3)...

Reconnect-- A couple of questions?

How much do you weight?
What are your goals--fat los, weight gain, maintain weight?

These are things that will determine where and how to get your protein.

When dieting, I drink 3-4 50gram protein shakes daily. 1 for breakfast, 1 after training, 1 before bedtime, and another whenever I feel hungry. I also use protein bars, myoplex low carb are very good.

When trying to gain weight, just drink Nlarge 2 or some other high cal, high protein shake. Or atleast have half of 1 after your meals. It is really not that hard to get the protein.

Shakes are the way to go, about 40 to 60 grams of protein in a regular shake with the milk. Just stick them in between meals, they digest quickly.

I suck back 4 isopure clear protieen drinks by "perfect" at 4og each per to add 160g of very easliy absorbed balanced protien per day. Off cycle I havee just 2/day.
They aree nnot cheap ( 3.50 each in bulk) but they can't be beat. Try woorkinng out immeediatly after sucking back a milkshake.....nno problem with these suckers.

good gainin

It's hard, I agree, and I get about 180g of protein from shakes myself. I'm aiming for at least 350g per day (more like 400g), with about as many carbs and 80-90g of fat (healthy fats like peanuts help me get the extra calories in).

I get 5 meals in a day with about 40 grams in each. I then add a couple of shakes in and go over 300. I found the key to getting it all in is more small meals.

i drink a shake every 2hours...8am to 8pm..thats 7drinks...7*40=280..the rest from food..i go above and beyond 300...lata g....

first of all you need to have down 2-3 protein drinks per day, which is around 80grams itself. eat tuna throughout the day, about 2-3 cans is 90 grams right there.
Now, this is nearly 175grams of protein with this, you are NOT going to be filled up so obviously your going to be eating more. it is not very hard to achieve this.
you double what i put and that is 350grams of protein!! simple :D

It really isn't that hard when your in the groove. I can usually get 300-400 when I am on a roll for 12 weeks. But you better drink some serious water cause you will be shittin' bb's out your ass!

You can get protein with varying qualities and absorption rates. For example, you can obtain 50 grams of: Soy Isolate protein for about 51 cents, Whey concentrate protein for about 59 cents, Caseinate protein for about 72 cents, Egg White protein for about 73 cents, and Milk Isolate protein for about 74 cents. Make one of these protein powders the foundation of your in-between whole meals and immediately post-workout shakes. And if you find you're probably not getting enough protein in your whole meals in spite of spending a good deal on milk, eggs, and meats each week, consider having a small protein shake with your meals as well. And I've noticed that (at least in my area) unusually good deals on ground beef, steaks, chicken breasts, turkey breasts and occasionally healthy seafood such as salmon usually come around at least every few weeks or so. I keep my eye on the grocery store fliers when they come out for that very reason, and I try to take advantage of those oppurtunities to stock up.

And as far as the actual taking in of the additional food needed during serious bulking/strength cycles, it can be a real bitch, especially considering all the drinking water you should be filling your stomach with throughout the day as well. I've found that (at least for me) it is a little easier on the GI system to gradually build up your daily caloric intake over the course of 4 to 7 days rather than just all of the sudden drastically upping your caloric intake. Just my two cents...

i take 4 scoops of way=88 grams plus 16 oz of skim milk to mix=around 106 grams...x that by a day and that =318 from shakes alone....then all that chicken and fish:D

Don't forget that you must eat every 3 hours..........about 40-60 grams a meal so if you start a 6-9-12-3-6-9-thats at least 6 meals thats at least 300+grams right there.Plus if you snack.chow down some cashaw nuts......or peanuts great protein there also if you really serious set you alarm for 2am and pound down a shake for another 60 grams.......or do like i do and just EAT ALL FUCKIN DAY!!!!!!!!!:freak:

This was orignally posted by beezers in another thread but its a GREAT VERY clean diet that I am going to start following and you get 470 g of protein a day, which can be lowered or raised:p to meet your needs.... here goes

MEAL 1 8:00am
3 cups cottage cheese
1 large banana

MEAL 2 10:00am
16 egg whites
1 cup cottage cheese
4 slices whole grain bread
2 tbsn. natural peanut butter

MEAL 3 1:00pm(post workout)
Protein shake
carb drink

MEAL 4 3:00pm
10oz. steak
2 cups brown rice

MEAL 5 5:00pm
10oz. ground turkey
2 cups brown rice

MEAL 6 7:00pm
8oz. fresh salmon
4 slices whole grain bread
6 large brocoli spears

MEAL 7 9:30pm
10oz. steak
1 medium potato
6 large brocoli spears

TOTALS (approx)
calories- 5085
protein- 471
carbs- 518
fat- 95

You can save yourself loads of $$$ by eating whole food sources of protein... it doesnt matter where your protein comes from and whey protein is only really good right aftera workout because it gets in the blood so quickly.... think about this... there is only 1 shake in that meal plan, that is some good shit!

any of you eating soy heres what i found about it

"Soy protein is quickly again becoming popular amongst the bodybuilding community. The reason RESEARCH! Here is what research has discovered about soy isolate.

1. Soy fights cancer and has anti-estrogenic effects.
2. Soy has the highest amount of BCAA glutamine and arginine.
3. Soy may raise the level of endogenous production of thyroxin, which in turns speeds up metabolism.
4. Daidzein, one of soy's isoflavones, may raise the level of testosterone and growth hormone.
5. A diet rich in soy decreased the chance of heart disease.

Soy protein is considered a must in a bodybuilders diet. Due to extreme low cost, bodybuilders experience great gains in muscle mass and decrease in body fat"

what do you guys think

I consume about 200grams of first class protein per day. I guess it's around 260 when counting food as well.. I have had days when I have just eaten about 100... I still think this is enough for me cos I am not proper bodybuilder... just a guy with 16inch arms..

i figured in the range of 80-100 a week for the diet, not quite sure exactly, but not too much....
But think about this spending 30-40 bucks on a 2lb tub of protein every two weeks is already 60-80 a month and then add food on top of that... in a year you'd save yourself a good hunka change from not using so much protein powder...

My Doctor told me that your body could not absorb more than 50g. of protein each time you eat. He also told me that taking Ginger Root (either the actual root or in pill form) would enable your body to absorb upto 80g. at a time. I drink 80g. with each protein shake and eat chicken, beef, and tuna thru out the day. I usually consume around 300-350g per day.

I believe it to be much cheaper to get your protein form shakes. Like 30 cents for a protein shake compared to a dollar for a chicken breast. However I would prefer food protein over shakes.

in Denmark i pay about 70$ for 5 lbs Prolab protein so if i should get just 100gms of protein a day from that i would be living in the streets :bawling:

im starting to use BigJohsons shakes
they have 90g of protein'
100fat and 100carbs
good for bulking only,he posted how to make it a day or so ago

I take 70-90% of my protein intake from protein shakes. It would be vice to eat more real food, but i just cant.

2lb of top round steak=200g of protein, 2 cans of tuna=75g, 1lb of chicken breast=100g. getting 300-400g is not that hard.

serge what kind of tuna you buy, buckets? My tuna is only 13g of protein.

Still I find it very easy to beef up the protein. My diet is already at 220g and I only put 1400 calories, 30fat, and 55 carbs in it so far. Still gotta get it up to 150 carbs and 2500 calories - that means atleast another 50-75g of protein going in. I don't see how you can't reach your goal even if you don't drink whey.
