20 Rep Squats For Mass- Who's Tried Them???

yes 20 reps for all leg movements if i used leg press i would do 50rep but i dont go to gyms maybe when i finally buy one i will be able to punish myself more

Yeah, me too! I'll keep my reps in the 10-12 range on the squat and finish them off with a set of 20 reps with a medium weight. WHEW!!!:p I need help finding my keys, afterwards...

When I first started training legs (about 12 years ago) I used 15-20 rep sets. As I progressed I used heavier and heavier poundages and lower reps. This year I pretty much topped out working out with 600 for sets of 5-6. My injuries also became weirder and I can only imagine that it is from using heavy weight. Lately I have been doing sets of 20-30 with 315 or 405. My legs actually look better and they feel a lot healthier. At this point, I see no reason to ever lift 600 pounds again.

For some people, 20 reps is all you need for growth.

I did over 20 reps with 315lbs ONCE. Wouldnt do it again! It sucked all the blood from my head to my legs. My neck instantly stiffened. Wasnt a good feeling............galaxy

I recommend doing supersets of regular squats with front squats, then jump right off and start straight legged deadlifts, that is one that will do it, When I squat I always superset regular squats with front squats!!!

True leg workout:

leg ext
leg curls
leg press
regular squat ss w/ front squat
straight legged deadlifts
lunges
one leg lunges
leg ext
hammer strength leg curl

I have used high rep squats for a lng time, I always get compliments on the way my quads look. I'm talking about using a wieght that you are hurting with at 15, then push for the other 5.
Try four set of those..really want them to grow? Do it twice per week. The good thing about higher reps is quicker recovery from one workout to the next and it reduces the risks associated with injuries due to heavy squats.

Oh man galaxy, this made me laugh!!! :) Sorry bro, but I lauged because I did 20 rep squats the other day after coming back from a 5 week lay-off and man I felt like I needed to puke for about an hour after, I was dizzy as hell also and I was only working with 230#'s. But good or bad I always do 20 rep squats because of the insane burn I get from them, can't beat that feeling IMO.
