1st bad shot.. After 8 years..

I consider myself a vet when it comes to aas knowledge and injection technique... I have prolly poked myself close to a thousand times...

I always preach not to mix water and oil in the same syringe BUT last night I was lazy and I shot 1mL of suspension mixed with 1mL of NPP...

Almost immediatly after the injection I got a quarter sized lump on my ass. Looked like a big zit. I wet a cloth, put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and then sat with the warm compress on my ass for 30 min or so. I put some anti-bacterial cream on it before I went to bed as well.

I could really sleep last night. I kept waking myself up due to the pain. I will keep adding heat to it, keep with the anti-bacterial cream and I also have tetracycline on hand.

My question is what other steps can I take in the next couple days before I "might" need to go see a doc??? Thanks in advance.

PS I heard maybe benedryl?

I have also heard benadryl. Still havent had a bad one myself (crosses fingers). Have you ever heard it was bad to use heat? Something about spreading infection or something along those lines...PS, you know better than mixing shit like that lol

If $$$ isn't an issue go to urgent care so you quit stressin'. If you have an infection you're not gonna grow anyway-might as well get it looked at so you aren't risking a staph infection. If privacy is an issue-go to one on the other side of town where you won'tpotentially see any fellow gym members, neighbors, relatives, etc. A fix up will cvost you around $300 Rx included.

That's how mine was. I could get the swelling down with ice, but it would come back-and was always warm to touch/red.

is it spreadaing? do you have red bloches or circles around the site? I have been unfortunate to have 2 bad injections. 1st one was bad and had to see doc. the second one, I used an old antibiotoc I had left over. With glute injections it is very easy to go in at a wierd angle and not go deep into muscle. This can cause cellulitis which is an infection under the layeers of skin. it gets traped and slowly spreads. this is bad. If you start seeing this, GET TO YOUR DOC!!!. If it is just a knot, stick with antiinflamatory and heat.

If you got a lump that quick after injecting its not an infection bro. Infection takes a little time to set in and will be more than a lump with some pain. You would feel sick, tired, and your ass, lower back, and entire legs would be red and swollen.

You either hit a nerve, didn't inject deep enough, injected into some scar tissue, hit a vein and have a pocket of blood, or moved the needle causing the muscle to tear internally which leaves a sever internal bruise.

dam that's scary. like my 8th shot ever in my glute i had gotten sore, it looked swollen up a little, then i laid down to do some situps like 5 days later, felt like i was laying on aTENNIS ball. i took an extremely hot shower, my showerhead is the one you hold, so i just helt the water on my ass cheek for long time, increasing the heat until i couldn't take it and waiting then getting it hotter and hotter, then when done and my ass cheek was as red as a fire truck i did severe deep tissue massage on it and then sat on a heating pad. it was gone next day. fucking wierd shit. shots are fucking scary shit, i don't care how many i do, i still break out in a sweat doing it.

That lump will be gone in a few days.
Even if its infected go to the doc and get some antibiotics, they will clear an infection up in 3 days.
Try injecting higher up in your glute that seems to help with the lumps. The muscle is more fiberous there.

Sounds like fat necrosis to me. Youre probably not going deep enough with the jab and the oil is sitting in the fat and not being taken up into the bloodstream. Try a 1.5" pin for your glute shots.

I have mixed oil and water many times and no probs. If it swells that fast, it isn't an absess. Try to ice it. Works better for inflammation than heat.

Yeah-and I got to continue to drain it on my own 2-3x day for a week afterwards while on heavy antibiotics. It felt like somebody knuckle punched me as hard as they could in my arm for days while it healed. It even left permaneant indentation in my tri. The ass would be worse-constantly feeling it sitting, driving, etc would really suck. At least I could somewhat isolate my arm while doing my everyday bullshit. If you get an abcess in your legs or ass you're inevitably gonna feel it everytime you take a step. Owie!

Well, I went to my doc today for whatever is growing in my ass. Told him the deal and he said it was most likely due to the mixture i used BUT not shooting deep enough or I hit scar tissue.

I told him Ive been using anti-biotic cream and applying heat for over two days now. He said the heat isnt the best thing to use. Ice will stop the inflamation more than anything else. He wrote me a script for something along the lines of keflex, in case it doesnt go down in the next few days. As of right now, he does not see any need for further actions. Ice, aspirin, anti-biotic creams and rx meds if necessary.

I certainly learned my lesson of being lazy. I was using a 25g 5/8th for my water based site injections and I got lazy and thought id throw some oil in the mix and shoot a glute. What a STUPID mistake.
