12wk Shred-a-thon

Ruh ruh ruh Roger that LOL, never tell yourself you can't do something, today was the first time I ever tried to clean 300lbs, and I did it with mental perseverance.
 
Hey Rick, I'm interested in knowing how you're running the sust. Are you doing 500/wk? 250 every 3 or 4 days, or are you doing it all at once once a week?
 
Hey Bader I'm rocking it twice a week. The same with the primo. I think instead of Mast, I will be using MHN the last 6 weeks of the cycle. It's like winny without the joint issues though, and I've heard increases athletic performance.

I'm doing really well on the diet. By the time sunday rolls around I will have put in 48 hours at work in 4 days. Despite this, I've woken up and made all my meals with fervor. I'm not going to sully this competition with half assed efforts. I'm two weeks in and I'm close (about a percent of Bodyfat) away from where I was when I finished my 6 week shred contest. So I'm on track.

I've been talking with Zed on numerous occasions about varying things, and I must say, he is a great man. Very helpful, a lot like N2. There when you need him.

I've been rocking TGC (The Gentlemen's Club) anabolics, and my oh my are they wonderful. I hit a nerve with the first pin, and eventually got very very sore, but the other sites where I injected twice the amount have no pain or soreness at all!!! Awesome company, with top notch customer service. I'll be posting pictures soon of the gear itself.

Because of you Andrew, I've decided to clean 225. I'm positive I can do this. And if I do accomplish it, man I'll be soooooo freaking stoked!!!
Next Week I'll be back on the grind for sure!!! Two-A-Days all week long!!!

I also reached a sticking point so I'll be decreasing cals by 300. Hopefully I can take some of the chub off.

Ok well I will be proverbially be kicking ass then.

I believe I have hit a sticking point so I will be increasing my cardio for ten min tomorrow morning when I do fasted cardio. Hopefully that will help me shred out a little more. If not I'll drop down to the next calorie tier.

I found the new ultimate Preworkout mixture.
150mg primo, 250mg Sust. 200mg caffine. Holy ****!!! I about had a dance off (by myself) in the gym parking lot! I thought I was high!

Then I destroyed everything IN the gym.

20 min jog, then I thought....hey you need to up your cardio...so I did a 10 min sprint. Felt like a champ. Then I was like....Hmm...you need better anaerobic endurance....so I did the Insane Train Monday Protocol. The first exercise is Front squat to press to plyo pull-up. Which destroys you. Especially the jello-i- legs I just brutalized from sprints. I found a second gear

1 set of 15/15
1 set of 12/12
1 set of 10/10 (Killed it. Grunted and pain screamed the whole time)

Then I moved straight into Bosu-Ball 50lb Dumbell Press followed by 12kg medicine ball chest pass.

1 set of 15/15
1 set of 12/12

Then I used the same weight and a Half Bosu-Ball and did bent over dumbell rows followed by Balanced Medicine ball slams.

1 set of 15/15
1 set of 12/12

It was awesome. I don't think I spent more than 45 seconds in between any set, and it's more weight, and more reps than I've used in the passed. I got to get a heart monitor so I can track what it's doing for spywizard. I am happy to say NO BLOOD PRESSURE ISSUES WHATSOEVER ON TGC ANABOLICS!!! In fact, the other day I had my blood pressure measured and I was 110/59!!! Which is awesome!!!! the week before that I was 125/67 which is like the lowest I've been in a while! I'm so stoked with this stuff, and how the training and diet are coming together!

I'm stoked too, I think I'm getting a new car....well I'm going to lease one. A little civic. I had one before and I absolutely loved it. it's only 125 a month! It will be awesome to have in California cause....well the 90'GMC I have just wouldn't cut it. I found out how much I'm making there and I was pretty shocked really. 3000 a month from the gym and another 1750 from coaching!!! Which is hella cool since my rent is only 350 a month!!! Hahahaha I am soooooo ready to get out of this hole. I'm going to do something I haven't done in a long time and openly thank the lord for helping me out. I've been pretty resistant to any type of personal progression but for the past month or two I've really been trying hard. Some might even call it "Fake it till ya make it". I'm ok with that, cause I think I'm being a better person, and appreciating more in my life because of it. Anywho...I know that was kind of a long winded update into my life, but I wanted to share it with ya'll cause you're also apart of my family. So many of you shape my daily outlook on life. So thank you

Congrats on the civic, its an economical car so I too would pleased to come across one at the right price.

Thanks PETE! Yeah I like this kind of workout. I feel.......separated from everyone else. Like I'm the Alpha Male. I'm from a small town about an hour and a half north of Vegas.

I had a great morning workout!

I lifted heavier and longer than I have in a long time! Very happy with the progression and it definitely strengthens my confidence going into Huntington Beach.

10 min warm up

Squats super setted with 36" box hop with weight (Thanks Andrew732 for the suggestion)

1x1@195 I haven't cleaned 180+ for a really long time. I'm hell bent on hitting 225. 195 came up really easy, but I got to do a better job of getting underneath the bar and getting low. I think in another 3-4 weeks I could hit 215 pretty easy.

Deads super setted with full extension narrow grip pull up (all at 6 reps)
3X6@275lbs (this is like a record for me! I felt very alpha male after) 6 pull ups each set.

Cut some of the cals and I hope I'll see some more changes now. Thanks everyone for all the kind words and the support!

Well I was challenged today to use all the strength I've been blessed with, and to destroy the gym by fellow member Mikey C.

I need that Mike! I took my DCP a little caffine, and my forged joint, through on some sweats and my Nike Prestos (Greatest shoe ever! hence I have 3 pairs of them) and went into the garage and fired Ol' Bessy up. Well, Bessy didn't fire. I own the steepest driveway in 4 states guaranteed, and so I tried to pop the clutch while rolling out backward. It didn't pop. So now I'm out in the middle of the street stuck. I throw it in Neutral and push it to the side of the road, but my attempt is hedged cause the steering column locks up and now I'm stuck in the dip before my driveway. I fix the steering problem, and push with all my might, while 8 middle schoolers are watching me wondering "what the heck is this tool doing?" The truck doesn't move. Now with the parking brake off I push again and some how I'm able to push my 1990 GMC TRUCK UPHILL back out into the middle of the road and then push it another 40 feet to the side of the street. Whew....pretty tired.

Something inside me told me to run. I wanted to go back inside and wait for afternoon and then try again....but I felt compelled to run. Mind you it's 8 degrees outside. So I just threw my wallet (and now I remember they are in the unlocked truck) in the truck with the keys and trotted down the road listening to some Avenged Sevenfold.

I decided to run the golf course a block away from my house. Another caveat, I'm NOT a runner. I'm athletic, but more like a sprinter. Anywho...I ran and ran and ran, and for 28 min I cleared 3 miles of golf cart track in 8 degree weather. The most important thing about this whole experience is it almost never happened. I could have easily went inside and worked out later, which is ok, but I acted. I felt like a newly baptized person running up my driveway knowing that I ran the whole darn thing without stopping, without wavering. My hands were frozen from the very start, and my lower back ached the whole way through, but I finished. It was almost spiritual.

Thank you Mikey C. for the Challenge. I needed that.

The Lord will bless all of you today so don't take it for granted. Even the simplest of things like finishing a meager run can brighten your day.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH ZED! I will admit, I'm still not very impressed though. Maybe it's I think I look better in person, but on "Film" I just am not liking what I'm seeing. I guess it's time to put it in 2nd gear.

Do you just switch it up everytime you workout or is this a specific routine that you're following? I notice that you're always doing something different it's hard to keep up with lol.
 
The insane train protocol is five different workouts. One per day. Do it for a month then adjust for weaknesses. So I
If I need more speed work, ill change accordingly,or if I need to focus on lower body endurance and power...then change accordingly. That's what I'm doing. You have to be comfortable being uncomfortable.

I made the gym my *****.

I decided to try and match the speed of Mikey C. today, but to no avail I could not do so. BUT, I did manage to still get all my cardio done at a record speed.

I did a 10min warm up of a 4 spd and a 15 incline for 10 min. Then I switched to a 4 incline and did 30 min straight of a 6.0 speed. I'm NOT a runner, and I felt really really good about my performance. I am really starting to enjoy the benefits of running. I feel so much more healthy when I'm done with a decently long run. My heart feels great, I sweat like a Mother, and I feel cleansed from it. Sometimes with a euphoric high that accompanies it.

After the run I decided I needed to work on some striations in my shoulders. Here's the workout:

Warm up:
arm circles small 20 forward 20 backward
arm circles large 20 forward 20 backward
Band Lateral Raise 10 each arm
Band Side Raise 10 each arm
Rotator cuff 20 reps each arm.

Dumbell Shoulder Press:
1X15@40lbs
1x12@50lbs
1x10@55lbs

Dumbell Front Raises:
1X15@20lbs
1x12@25lbs
1x10@30lbs

Dumbell Side raises:
1X15@25lbs
1x12@30lbs
1X10@35lbs (by this time I was heavy grunting and I **** you not I could see my shoulder vain through my shirt!!! HELL YEAH!!!!

Seated Incline Bicep Curls w Dumbell:
1X15@30lbs

Tricep Extensions (machine)

I definitely could have kept going but I had been there for an hour and I really needed to eat. So I bounced.

If I may, I just want to say that I'm truly blessed. Family, Friends, health, and wonderful experiences. I have to thank the lord for being exceedingly patient with me, and loving me despite all the many faults I have. He's blessed me so much. New job/s, the greatest family anyone could ask for, the best support group in the world (YOU!), the opportunity to not just accomplish goals or even dreams but wild fantasies of greatness!!! Not to many people are offered the opportunity to go out and do what they dream about! Sorry for the rant, but I had to thank the man upstairs. He's truly looking out for me.

I was also pretty stoked, because I was able to get my car yesterday. I love that little civic. I need to name it. 2011 Honda Civic LX is about a gagillion times better than my 1990 GMC. SOOOOO STOKED!!!!

Well this morning was about as cool as any day ever. Chilled at the beach and played ball against my volleyball heros for two and a half hours. It was so sick! Huntington Beach is soooo freaking sweet!
 
i love huntington beach... we go there for the bonfire pits at least a couple times a year... i have a lot of family that lives in the foothills about 45min away....
ive also done the powerlifting meet at venice the last two years... it is packed there on memorial weekend...
im jealous of you bro, thats where me and my wife want to live...

cardio with medice ball in the deep Huntington sand is a bitch!

Star drills
Start at a center location then go forward (3 steps with proper footwork as fast as you can while holding 20lb ball) and to the left to the 10oclock position, then back to center, then to nine o clock, then back to center, and so on till you have gone around the clock. Then go around twice, then twice again then do one more single set.

No resting though as between each set of star drills you're doing front squat to push press with thera bands, and front and side shoulder raises with 12lb kettle bells. No rep count, just till the other dude finishes his set of star drills.

Then it's serious reps on the court. Which blows cause after my 10 min jog in the sand, and the cardio, my legs are completely fried. Drills usually consist of One team serves every ball to one guy, and it's the first team to 21. There is no rest, full speed all the time. I really can't describe how out of place, and how absolutely awful it makes the legs hurt. It's sooooooooo much harder than it looks on tv. Basically the reps last from 9am to 11:30 am. At which point I went home and ate a good solid meal. (I haven't been cheating by the way!, still going strong!!!!) then went to Casey's house for lifting. Which will be a everyday thing now. And wouldn't you know it. Leg day!

So basically I'm laying here, knowing that tomorrow at 8:00am I'll be doing it all over again. I'm fried. The sun just zaps it out of you. I'm cramping in my hamstrings, toes, quads, and arches of my feet. And yet...I think "bring it on" ...cause there will always be somebody better, and that might as well be me.

Not to sound like a jerk, but ya'll never stood a chance in this competition.
Just discuss amongst yourselves who's competing for second.

Side lunge with 12lb kettle bell

Circuit #2
Reverse fly
10lb plates 3 sets 10 reps
Pike push-ups on Bosu Ball
bodyweight, 3 sets, 10 reps
Swedish Twist on Bosu ball (super hard. Casey made it look easy. He's 190 and 6'7"....explain how that works?....)
Body weight, 3 sets, 10 reps
Opposite arm to toe touch on bosu ball
Bodyweight, 3 sets, 10 reps

So basically I'm laying here, knowing that tomorrow at 8:00am I'll be doing it all over again. I'm fried. The sun just zaps it out of you. I'm cramping in my hamstrings, toes, quads, and arches of my feet. And yet...I think "bring it on" ...cause there will always be somebody better, and that might as well be me.

im not counting anyone out in this, but if you think youre putting in more work than me or the others you may end up disappointed...
keep in mind i have a job that is so physically demanding that most people quit the first week, and i am the best in the nation at what i do... hands down, no bs...
i see some competitors here with lots of potential, so underetimating your competition is a HUGE mistake...
 
Thanks Moya, but My job IS conditioning. That's what I do all day everyday. I moved hundreds of miles away from my hometown to condition even harder. So that I'm NOT the best at what I do, and it forces me to grind and work harder than everybody else. Because everybody else, isn't the best in the Nation, they are literally the best in the world at what they do, and I'm not ok being anything less than that. So it's not that I'm underestimating people, I'm just not thinking of anyone at all. Just me and what I got to do to be the absolute best. I'm sorry you took my confidence personal man.
 
im not taking it personal at all... just letting you know that myself, and others here CAN win... just as i can lose as well, i am confident in myself to do my best... but not counting out others' potential as well...
im not going to say you dont have a shot at it as well, but to place yourself in first before the contest is barely started is a mistake imo...
there are some people in this who i will have to keep a very close eye on... and i am just advising you to do the same...

Man I've been hearing some super impressive things on HGH fragment as far as shredding goes. I would really like to run that and some Ipa, but I sadly have no money. My sweet paying coaching job pays in one lump sum after the season ends.....so that's nice....but I need it NOW!!!!

I've been meeting some pretty cool people here lately in HB. A couple of girls, and a really hot pilates instructor that I actually went to high school with. Hung out with her for a couple of hours, and had a great time.

I am pretty stressed. The main job that I moved out here for is not what it was. It was not a position where I could come in and immediately train people. Instead it's turned into me starting an entire business from scratch. Logo's, Payroll, the Gym itself, Clientele, Workouts, Liability waivers, etc....are all things I have to come up with by the 23rd of this month! I have no Idea how I'm going to be able to get it all done. No idea....
