1 year after 9/11: The US and its theatrics.

I have to admit I am going to be rather doubtful if Saddamn allows UN weapons inspectors into Iraq and we still go to war with him....in that case it would be more of a "Saddamn called Bush's bluff about the reason to go to war so now we're going to get some oil..."

Who gives a shit about international law when a subculture of murderous mother-fuckers are plotting your slaughter? It's kill or be killed-period.

You can't just bomb people for the fun of it.

You have to go through a PROCESS.

The UN is that process.

Where the hell are the terrosists going to hide? The moon?

They have nowhere to go.

This is the old story of Anarchy vs Civilization. The US is getting
a bit too crazy.

If you bomb/kill/invade a country w/o deliberations, you are no better than the terrorists are.

That's all great thinking in a civilized world fonz, but unfortunately the terrorists don't follow these rules/laws,so improvization/adaptation becomes a necessity for one of the most basic human instincts-survival.Do you think they're saying,"well, there's this international law,so we can't just go and bomb our hated enemy"?We are under attack, and these fucks follow no laws, and must be stopped at all costs.Sitting around and waiting for them to strike first blood while we go through all these'processes' is not an option.

Fonz you're really being insensitive to this whole situation, did you know that TWENTY percent, yes TWENTY, not FOUR, NOT NINETEEN but TWENTY percent of americans experienced DEPRESSION after 9/11.....that's like MILLIONS of people. MILLIONS. Not THOUSANDS, MILLIONS. And they all exerienced DEPRESSION. Please make a donation to the 9/11 Relief Fund as penance for your cruelty

Frackal, you have to look at this objectively. Emotions have no
part in international relations.

Me, insensitive? Maybe. I'm just more used to the terrorist angle. Remember that I'm from Spain, and we've had ETA for a few decades. I'm just looking at the larger picture of the
whole affair.

No country in the world will support you if you kill 100's of civilians just to get the guy you want.

This is tied to the blanket amnesty required by the US for ALL
its peackeepers.

That is ridicuolus. That is tantamount to approving murder.

My respect for Bush is going up due to his recent words to the UN. Looks like that puss Powel is at least keeping his rotten mout shut a little more.

IMHO Bush needs NO resolution from the UN due to fact they are not OUR masters. I hope this mess destroys that rotten organization. Saddam is in violation and the UN has doen nothing to change that. If they continue to fail to do so, we will see the begginning of the end of that corrupt group. Good!

Bush doesn't need any additional authority from congress either.

1.The Commander in Chief, under war powers act, can send troops pretty much where he pleases for 60 days.

2. The resolution of congress right after 9/11 authorizing him to act seems to fit as well.

It appears to me that it is going to happeen - and soon. No matter what the cowards, traitors and other assorted whiners say, we are going to attack Iraq. I just hope we do it right, which means a total surrender and occupation.

If other shithole countries like Iran, Arabia, Syria or any others in the area want in, we got enough military might to utterly destroy them, too! Russia wants no part of this mess nor does China. Who else can oppose US? Europeans will flap their lips but they will tolerate it or even support it, so what's the problem? Lets roll!!

To those socialist UN radicals Bush should say something like, "Kofi, pack your shit. You third world goat ropers and socialist pole smokers have got two hours to be out of the building, off Manhattan and CONUS, or I'm gonna put the 23rd Marines on line with fixed bayonets and march you all into the East River. Then VMA-211 will napalm it. You been told, now get to it."

You boys ready? This country's going to WAR!

the Iraq situation isnt anything new Fonz, weve been threatening them for years and they have been the ones breaking your "international rules" by not allowing our weapon inspectors in. We have been pateint enough, its time to act, im not willing to let my friedns and family die to see if Saddam is for real or not, i wont take the chance

LOL. The entire human race is controlled by emotions.

Yes. True enough. But Nation states can't afford to get angry.

Its called diplomacy people. Something the US lacks. Except
for Colin Powell. He's a great SecState. Not his fault though,
the defense contractors have Pres. Bush in their collective pockets.

FONZ, you should have stuck with just telling your opinion of the ignorant woman you met in DC.

The UN has no control over the US, since we are a sovereign nation and only controlled by Constitutional processes. The US can enter into treaties with the UN, as Clinton tried to do with the Kyoto treaty, but that does not give the UN complete dominance over our actions. Not to mention that any treaty that is opposite to Constitutional law, should be unconstitutional, but I won't hold my breath in this day and age, which is why I am against treaties with the UN.

The UN is a travesty of common sense and a slap in the face to intelligent people. Why should we enter into an organization, which demands global dominance, and is composed of countries diametrically opposed to our morals? Constitutional federalism worked because the united states were of a common mindset and moral belief; this is not the case with the UN and members such as China, Sudan, Libya, Iran, Zimbabwe. In this union, a majority dominates and the US is alone in its philosophical beliefs in this world.

I agree that the US has problems, just as all of the world, but the UN is definately not a solution, it is only further problems.
