1 Week Into 5x5 Training......

........and it's deffiantly something new, but I think I'm going to really like it. After my first week I deffiantly can't wait for my second to increase the poundage. I found that it was a litttle difficult to try and estimate the correct poundage to do 5x5 on my compound exercises(It doesn't help that I'm into my 4th week of my cycle). I tended to stay on the lighter side and found it pretty easy doing 5x5. Next week I should have a better estimate of what I can do. Bench was way off. My 5th set I pushed out 10 reps. Oh well, it was my first time and it seems like it will take a few weeks to really get the correct weights down. The only day that sucks for me is my back day. Because of my F'N lower back I am no longer able to do deads and db rows. I tryed to do some barbell rows(as my 5x5), but it hurts way too much. I'm going to have to stay away from these three exercises. Since my gym doesn't have a supported t-bar, I was thinking of doing this for back day:
5x5 medium grip pulldowns
2x2 seated hammer row
2x2 widegrip pulldowns

What would you suggest for my back day without doing deads, bb, or db rows :bawling:

With your problems with the your aforementioned exercises, I guess T-bars are out of the question? Are you able to do chins in place of pulldowns?

i would go with pullups. can you do 5x5 bodyweight pullups with the hope of adding more weight down the road?

Yea, I can deffiantly do this.

Gettin Large- T-bar rows are defiantly out. If my gym had the model with the chest support I could do them, unfortunately they don't.

For what I'm able to do, how does this routine look:
5x5 Pullups
2x10-12 Seated Hammer Strength Rows
2x10-12 Medium Grip Pulldowns

pullups with weight attached is a good idea, you can add any amount of weight to that, from 2 1/2lbs and up

Yea, you can add weight to the belt. I actually haven't done weighted pullups first in a while. It should be fun.

After you add weight to the pull ups. Add towels and rip those forearms and back muscles into new and proseperous growth.

Towels?

Yes...wrap them around your head so that you look like a ninja. It will take your pullups to another level. The towels must be some sort of pastel color and monogrammed with Arnold's initials.
