38 years old, years of anxiety/depression, TRT and years of AAS abuse I really need some advice

Hi everyone,
I literally just found this forum because I was searching out of desperation. I honestly don't know what to do anymore, so I wanted to tell my story and hopefully get some advice from people who have much more experience than I do.
I started training when I was around 14, originally just lifting weights. I'm 38 now.
I grew up in a country that was quite isolated from the rest of the world at the time, and I had absolutely no knowledge about training, nutrition or bodybuilding. I would go to some run-down basement gym, pay the owner a little money and basically do whatever I wanted. I trained like that for probably five years, although I'm not even sure you could call it proper training.
Later, after moving abroad, I slowly started discovering information about training and nutrition. I remember being around 20 when I first tried to follow an actual diet that I had basically copied from someone on the internet. I was honestly shocked when, after a few months, I finally went from being overweight to actually looking like someone who trained.
But looking back now, I realise that I still knew absolutely nothing.
Over the years I started doing more than just lifting weights — running, boxing, kickboxing, etc. I also started taking supplements in huge amounts and eventually steroids. The problem was that I had absolutely no understanding of what I was doing. I basically took whatever some underground dealer recommended because at the time everything looked amazing and I thought I needed it.
I should also mention that for most of those years, apart from roughly the last two, alcohol, drugs and a lot of other stupid decisions were also part of my life.
Anyway, enough about the past. I'm 38 now and I'm finally starting to realise just how badly I fucked up over the years. It's actually difficult to believe how many years I spent training and experimenting without ever properly educating myself.
This is where I am now:
I've struggled with anxiety, depression, constantly low mood and generally feeling mentally terrible for many years.
I've also never properly had bloodwork done, which I now realise was incredibly stupid considering my history.
I'm currently on TRT and have been for about a year. I'm using Nebido, 5 mL every 8 weeks.
Physically, I guess I look somewhat better than I feel, but mentally and internally I still feel like absolute shit.
I've been training like a maniac for basically my entire life, yet I've never managed to achieve the physique I've wanted. And honestly, my goal isn't even anything crazy. I'd just like to be around 88 kg and lean/defined.
At the moment I'm around 100 kg and probably around 20% body fat.
So I guess my main questions are:
Where do I even start?
Since I've never had proper bloodwork done, what would you guys recommend as a basic starting point? What blood tests should someone with my history be getting, and are there any reasonably cheap/reliable private testing options in the UK?
And most importantly, what can I do about the constant anxiety, depression and feeling mentally terrible?
I'm not really looking for someone to tell me what cycle to run or what drugs to add. At this point I genuinely want to understand what I've done to myself, what I should be checking, and how I can start getting my health and my head back on track.
I've spent most of my life doing things without understanding them. I don't want to keep making the same mistake.
So yeah, guys… please help me out. Especially with the psychological side of things. If someone has been through something similar and has some serious advice, I'd really appreciate it.
Sorry for the long post. I'm honestly just reaching out because I don't know where else to start.
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this. ❤️

welcome to EF bro damny bad story i think you have an issue with bloods here like 5ml of gear every 8 weeks is crazy high and will crash and spike and give you VERY high e2, this is doc sript or you self TRT?
to start this off, we need you to post up your log like 10min of your time we can talk trianing foods diet supps and from there work on your bloods and more but without log its like crapshoot bro @krilin1989 start asap NOW share

HOW-TO LOG?

Why is a Log Journal important?
  • Doing a log will actually help you way more than just dropping random updates. When you lay it all out week by week you start to see patterns in your body that you won’t catch otherwise.
  • Other guys here run logs all the time and there’s no privacy issue, nobody is asking for your name or anything personal, it is just training, diet, and how the compound feels.
  • The feedback you get is also way better because people can follow along and spot things you might miss. It also helps the next guy who is thinking about running the same compound so you are giving back while you learn.
  • Even if you think you might not stick with it, just starting the log makes it easier to come back and add quick notes. That way you get more out of what you are running instead of keeping it all in your head.

To really guide you we need more info from you.
  • Please share your diet, training, cardio, sleep, supplements etc log with us in a NEW thread, full log journal so our guidance is based on facts you provide.
  • It will take 15-20 minutes max.
  • We have 100s of years of experience between us, so you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight, height, age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.
  • Please post a Log Journal asap for us

Please click the anabolic forum
top RIGHT, you see: +POST THREAD
click that

in Title: write your cycle name, like> My _____ Cycle Log
___ = the name of your log
example: My TRT cycle Log
in body: write your planned cycle or cycle you doing now, your diet, training and we will help you along on your cycle

here are examples of LOG Journals

P.S. are you listening to our podcast? if not, you should; this podcast is about steroids, sarms, peptides, and bodybuilding:

@Grumpy1 @abolone @koba @gar71 @BSS @Ohdamn @Nasser1997o2 @TeeGee

I second what @the_alcatraz has said a log would help you along your journey
Starting point would be to get a detailed blood test done to see where everything stands unfortunately i dont know whats available for bloods in the UK in aus we use imedical
After monitoring your bloods maybe can start to look into training and other stuff

The key for you is going to be getting your lifestyle in order:
  • Getting on a proper workout routine
  • Nutrition
  • Getting proper sleep
Sleep is very crucial. The best way to help with anxiety is to get proper sleep because that is when your body rests and relaxes. Also I'd recommend something like meditation, yoga, etc., something that can relax your brain.

The best thing you can do is use exercise as your medicine. You really do release a lot of good feel-good hormones when you exercise so that's going to be your strategy. Do exercise every day.

I ain't gonna play doctor on you brother. Half the time doctors are no help anyway. You're still breathing and you're still here. That matters, even on the days it don't feel like it. God loves you. The people around you want you around more than you think. You gotta do your half though. Pick up the phone. Keep calling. Don't sit there waiting for it to ring.

Bros, my recommendation is going to be to seek a community and a fellowship. You are in the right place. This is why starting up and being active in it can give you the motivation to push yourself. Sounds like you've got to fix your mental health number one. Once you do that, the body will take care of itself.

Sometimes just laying it out there and having a support system is a big help. It's good that you're able to do that. We are here as a family so you should definitely take advantage of that.
