Volume is up.
Supersets have gone in to compensate for time plus I love doing them!
(Supersets are paired as same colour in the workout log)
2-3 warm-up sets with the second last set of each exercise taken close to the point of failure. The last set taken to failure followed by a dropset.
Big arm & Forearm pump going ๐Ÿ”ฅ
My Delts still need a lot of work coming back from my rotator cuff tears, but just as certain as night ๐ŸŒ™ follows day ๐Ÿซก it's going to happen!
I start the routine with overhead cable curls to try & get my arms going up & back (due to the rotator cuff tears)
I literally can't do any arms up bicep pose, my arms go up to a certain point then just flop back down on their own.
This completely sux because I can't reach up in to any overhead cupboards & my arms were always a standout feature in my physique.

Now that I have put a little bit of muscle back on my frame & I'm lean enough to see whats lacking, I'm working on a designer physique.

This is were I'm going to be focusing heavily on exaggerating certain muscle's to get that silhouette v-taper shape happening.

They draw comic book Characters in this way by exaggerating certain bodyparts.
For me it's going to be shoulders, upper chest, upper back, triceps, Forearms & calves.

By doing this it will make my physique appear bigger than it actually is.
Which means that I can get away with having a lighter bodyweight which is a good thing at 50 years old it means less stress on the heart & other internal organs.

A couple of shots ๐Ÿ“ธ here from today,
I measured my arms cold they are
back up to 45.72 cm now which is 18"

Forearms are at 36.195 cm which is just over 14" around

At their peak they measured 50.8cm which is 20" around which is where I'd like to get em back up to ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ’ซโšก๏ธ

I've come to the end of this push phase so I'll be tapering down my Aas doses & removing Insulin while doing this.
I'll also be receiving physiotherapy treatments for my torn rotator cuffs during this time.

& return to my Oldskool (over the past 35 years) training, diet, ped & lifestyle before kicking off a well implemented health phase.

Oldskool for me was Golden era or 80's & 90's style training.

Diet Offseason for me was 3 rules,
โ— Eat smaller meals every 2-4 hrs
โ— Eye off meals that contain protein (foremost) carbs second & fats in third place
โ— Don't go to bed hungry

In those entire 35 years I never counted a single calorie or macro.
Offseason I ate whenever I wanted as long as it contained protein (I shot for 30g at each meal)

Precontest I ate lean meats, complex Carbohydrates & vegetables.
I never weighed or counted anything.
If I was feeling hungry in-between my meals then thats how I knew that I was on a diet & lower in calories.

I didn't take any supplements including creatine or protein powder.
I drank a lot if milk & drank rtd protein drinks from shops where I could find them.

I used Aas year round in doses no higher than Test 600mg p/w on it's own in the early day's before Ugl labs came about & later stacked usually Mast E or Tren when it started to become available at doses of 400 & 200mg respectively.
For Contest preps I used low doses of Test with Mast & Tren & employed Clen, T3 & Orals Winstrol & Anavar closer to the show.
I didn't use Hgh at all & have only started using this in the last 16 weeks.
I did maybe 2, 6 week cycles of Insulin & used 25mcg of T3 during around the last 10 years of it.

These are the before & after pics that I have now & there is a 10 week difference in between these pics.
The other couple of pics are me just last week ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

I've come to the end of this push phase so I'll be tapering down my Aas doses & removing Insulin while doing this.
I'll also be receiving physiotherapy treatments for my torn rotator cuffs during this time.

I'm going to have a bit of fun with it

More outer Triceps & more upper back thickness to make things really pop!

I really do want to compete in the Ifbb Masters & maybe open physique if my next push allows it & I if I can get my shoulders functioning properly again so that I can pose properly

I'm a leg man too, always had good leg genetics so even despite my patella tendon tears & patella displacement I'm not concerned about them coming up enough to compete ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

More outer Triceps & more upper back thickness to make things really pop!

I really do want to compete in the Ifbb Masters & maybe open physique if my next push allows it & I if I can get my shoulders functioning properly again so that I can pose properly

I'm a leg man too, always had good leg genetics so even despite my patella tendon tears & patella displacement I'm not concerned about them coming up enough to compete ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

More side delt will definitely give an even more pronounced broadness to the upper body and outter triceps as the cherry on the cake.

Training today was Arms & Forearms!
Well I must have looked like a Madman! in the gym for this one! ๐Ÿ˜…

Now don't judge ๐Ÿ”จ this is the type of training that got my arms up to 20" cold at their peak ๐Ÿ“ˆ
It's called CHASING THE PUMP! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ช
For the first set of all Exercises I pick a weight to warm-up with & take this warm-up set to the point of muscular failure for the purpose of muscle Hypertrophy (usually around 15-25 reps) This hits type 1 SLOW twitch muscle fibres, this primes the pump filling the muscles with blood & creating high levels of Metabolic stress

I rest inbetween sets only long enough for my training partner to complete Her set before jumping straight back in for another set.

I increase the weight on each successive set taking every single set performed to the point of muscular failure.

It usually takes 3-4 sets of each exercise to feel that it's adequately squeezed the life out of that muscle, starting at 15-25 & ending in 6-8 reps primarily hitting FAST TWITCH TYPE 2 muscle fibres.
Sometimes at this point I'll do a drop set or wait & do another lighter set depending on how fatigued the muscle is feeling from that exercise.

My repetitions are performed non stop in continuous pumping style using good control with continuous tension applied getting a good stretch on the muscle on each rep pumping it out until I can't get another rep.
I will always try for another rep or two even if I only get half a rep or can only move it barely an inch.

๐Ÿ”ฅIt's non stop work the muscle until it gives up, rest for the time that it takes my partner to complete Her set, then work the muscle until it gives up again over & over moving quickly between sets & exercises breathing heavily no talking.

No looking at phones, no recording data there is no time for that, there is only time for doing the set & letting the muscles recover only long enough to be able to do another set.

While my partner is doing Her set, I play the previous set over in my mind analysing how I performed that last set & how I can tweak the next set in order to work the muscle even harder.

Overtraining? No.
I recover & grow from every single workout training this way because I give my muscles a full 7 days to recover & grow.

Muscles grow when you work them hard enough to grow & they grow even more when you work them even harder & harder again & again.

๐Ÿ”ฅThe workout started off with,
โ—Standing cable Tricep pushdown
Superset (SS) with
โ—Standing overhead cable curls

Followed by,
โ—Machine preacher curls
SS with
โ—Incline Ez bar tricep extensions

Followed by,
๐Ÿ”ฅGiant Set
(The following 4 exercises are all performed in back to back non stop Superset fashion) for a total of 3 rounds.
โ—One Arm cable curls
SS with
โ—One Arm overhead Dumbell Tricep Extensions
SS with
โ—Seated one arm Tricep concentration pushdown (performed like concentration curls with upper arm resting on inner thigh)
SS with
โ—Seated one arm Reverse grip concentration Tricep pushdown

Followed by,
๐Ÿ”ฅGiant Set
(The following 5 exercises are all performed in back to back non stop Superset fashion) for a total of 3 rounds.
All sets of these exercises are completed with the same 10kg Dumbbell taken to failure on each set.
โ—One Arm Dumbbell Reverse Dumbell wrist curl
SS with
โ—One Arm Dumbbell Wrist curl
SS with
โ—Standing In & Out Dumbell curls
(Hands pronated on the way up, Hands supinated on the way down, Hands supinated on the way up, Hands pronated on the way down)
SS with
โ—Standing alternate dumbell curls
SS with
โ—Standing alternate dumbell hammer curls

These Giant Sets target ๐ŸŽฏ Every single muscle in the Upper & Lower Arms simultaneously engorging the whole entire arm with pump, blood & fatigue finishing off the workout with a maximum high intensity effort prompting new muscle growth ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Superset (SS) with
โ—Standing overhead cable curls

Followed by,
โ—Machine preacher curls
SS with
โ—Incline Ez bar tricep extensions

Followed by,
๐Ÿ”ฅGiant Set
(The following 4 exercises are all performed in back to back non stop Superset fashion) for a total of 3 rounds.
โ—One Arm cable curls
SS with
โ—One Arm overhead Dumbell Tricep Extensions
SS with
โ—Seated one arm Tricep concentration pushdown (performed like concentration curls with upper arm resting on inner thigh)
SS with
โ—Seated one arm Reverse grip concentration Tricep pushdown

Followed by,

(The following 5 exercises are all performed in back to back non stop Superset fashion) for a total of 3 rounds.
All sets of these exercises are completed with the same 10kg Dumbbell taken to failure on each set.

โ—Standing In & Out Dumbell curls
(Hands pronated on the way up, Hands supinated on the way down, Hands supinated on the way up, Hands pronated on the way down)
