Hello Zedhead. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to PM you.
I did the first day of SL 5x5 today, it went great but was very light. I went according to the sheet that calculates the weights you should be lifting, and mine were pretty low. So I added 15+ lbs to the weights the sheet calculated for me based on my usual weight and reps and it was alright, but I didn't struggle with any reps on any exercise at all. The bench press felt like child's play (it wanted me to bench 100, and I bumped it up to 135).
I did improve my squat form though. Do you think I should increase by 10lbs like the program says (for days you feel were easy), and work my way to the point where it is an effort? I know the big deal is lifting very heavy, so I want to get to the point where I am lifting heavy. But I don't know if the program intentionally starts you out super-light for some reason?
Thanks! Very happy to have come across you and others here and to have found out about the SL 5 x 5!
I was on the DL for a while. Blew my back out twice, had hernia surgery, shoulder surgery, and pec surgery in the last three years.
Last year almost killed me 3x but I'm alive and better for it!
I'm confused. What is that logo, and where is it? I usually only log in on my phone, so this is the first time I have even seen the 'messages' section... just let me know, and I will remove it.. thanks!
