You hear his tale, through a police officer, an agent, and a wealthy collector, and it all leaves you with the impression... that Ray saw things in and out of time, that most could not.
One more specific hint... the agent who brings up her encounters, honestly implies that Ray left her Nostradumus like impressions about the when, where, event wise, in a most uncanny, manner. It's an arresting piece, to say the least.
