Maybe you can improve your conditioning from now until then and then you should go for it. Even if you aren't confident in how you will go maybe you want to still do it for the experience/fun. IMO no shame is competing after qualifying by default, as long as you think you won't look too out of...
Bringing your bodyfat % down will give you the best visible abs. The skinniest guys can still have abs if they are lean enough. My advice is continue to train hard but focus on your diet and bring your fat mass down.
Yup definitely 20% +
Dexa scan would be an interesting tool to track your body composition progress.
If I were in your position I would drop the calories a bit and see how my body responds.
Good luck with it.
+1 on Deadlifts. I haven't shrugged in years and my traps definitely aren't lacking. If you are going to throw in shrugs to more attention just make sure you're straight up and down. None of this rolling the shoulders.
I guess you should first find which show you want to compete in like at bodybuilding.events so then you have a date and can figure out how long you have to diet.
The best way will probably be to open it up and clear out whatever is blocking it.
Maybe try some suction with a vacuum cleaner after prodding around in there?
Yup keep the dream tan for show day.
Before then you will need to get as dark as you can.
For my shows:
- A week before I get rid of hair everywhere. I have sensitive skin and this gives time for my skin to recover from shaving, waxing.
- Big exfoliation session.
- Get a fake tan / skin...
