Some coworker said there was a "gay" gene

Are you a twin too?! :D I'm an identical twin..the only environment we shared was the first four years of childhood..and that was just our home environment....if that is what you are talking aobut..then yeah..you are right. Depends on what you mean by environment I guess. From what I've read..and I could be wrong because I'm not an expert; as the twins go through life their epigentic profiles become more diverse because of their different environments...the different experiences change the pattern of those marks. Identical twins usually share the same placenta so unless something happens at birth to one twin and not the other..idk. Environment is the only thing twins don't share...even though it's close.

I have no problem with the idea of people being born gay either. None at all. Just having some coffee :D

Yep, I'm a twin too. Haha and so are ALL my cousins. Seriously.

But why were their first thoughts about "gays"? What led them to think that?

And besides theres no fuckin way thats even true. "For as long as I can remember" That is not scientific at all. I wanna see a study saying that this person was born gay and nothing is gonna change him. Then is there a "straight gene" as well? What about a "bisexual" gene? Why arent we finding these?

Yea I follow the news, its an issue that is always gonna be an issue just like abortion and religion. No one is gonna change their minds. If you think suicide is the only way out then heres an idea: dont be gay lol
Genes, maybe not. Hormones and brain chemistry, almost definitely.

There is speculation that exposure to excessive amounts of estrogen in the womb predispose male children to homosexuality. In households where multiple male children have been born, the youngest ones have progressively higher propensities towards homosexuality. Basically, a woman's body treats a male child like a foreign invader and the more sons she has, the stronger the antibody response becomes.

Also, in studying gay guys brains with MRI, they've got structures that more developed in women, less in straight guys.

To me, one of the most telling that it's something genetic (like I said, I'm more of the hormone/brain chemistry school), the percentage of twins raised in separate houses. If one is gay, the other has WELL more than a 50% chance of being gay.

Basically, a gay guy is more like a woman, mentally :whatever:

Google neurobiology and homosexuality, craploads of articles out there.

Glad, you gotta just accept something and move on. A gay person knows they're gay, the same way a straight person knows they're straight. Study after study has proven it, there is no such thing as a truly straight person, or a truly gay person, just people with stronger or weaker desires, and those desires can be dynamic.

Knew a dude in high school. He was dating a hot girl for about a year. I knew he was gay, I could just look at him and tell. The rest of us agreed. A year later he dumped her and started fucking deuds.

I will agree this thread gets more queer everytime uamaverick posts in it.
