In all honesty I just laughed a little when I saw him on the news. I mean yeah his situation sucks but the guy flat out tells the reporter the reason he is there is drug and alcohol use - however he has been sober for two years so give the guy a job.

PS- God didn't give him jack because he doesnt exist its luck of the draw but many African Americans have good voices.

I agree with SD and nimbus, at times he actually behaved and sound like a child, I guess substance abuse and being homeless really did a number on the poor guy

Yup, his self esteem is understandably shriveled and he has to re-outgrow middle school-like insecurity all over again and hopefully he can do it w/o the drugs or alcohol. I fear he will crumble w/o the support it seems he'll get. But, mind over matter and if his faith keeps him afloat then so be it. It might be a placebo, but if it works for him...
