how do you dress for work?

stilleto

ELITE MENTOR
EF VIP
like, a typical outfit or two.

(all you people who are about to post "i work from home so i don't wear anything" can stfu.)

Suit and tie probably 40% of the time.

Business casual 40% of the time (decent pants -- no kakis; sleeves rolled up).

20% of the time... workout clothes!

my last job was SUPER casual. Like, most people wore workout clothes because working out at lunchtime or after work was encouraged.

when i started this job, I said I wasn't going to wear jeans ever. But, most everyone else is so casual half the time, that now I am too. So every other day or so I wear jeans (nice ones, with boots or heels) and a sweater or a sport jacket. I know i should probably do that less, but i love jeans.

also, i'm the only creative person at my company, so even though i'm management, nobody expects me to be normal. :)

Pinstripe suit, Charles Tyrwhitt Shirt, bright flashy tie. All day, every day.

you forgot to mention putting on make up, plucking your eyebrows, getting a weekly manicure, etc

No make up bor, although I do use Lab Series products (aka the face worsh and moisturizer).

The chick that cuts my hair will snip at my eyebrows every other month or so. Fuckers get bushy.

Also, Ive never had a manicure. Dont need some asian bish cutting my fingernails when Im capable of doing that myself. Its like hiring someone to clean my ears. I got a costco size box of q-tips, nugga.

I wasn't. This massive trouser snake limits my wardrobe options.

I thought about donating half of it to some lezbo, but I'd want to keep the other 12".

See you went and pushed the limits outside of interweb acceptable parameters. If you would have stuck with something in the 18-20" range it would be more believable.

just sayin'

But everyone on EF runs in the 18"-20" range. It just comes with the 3% body fat and 405 lbs for-reps bench press territory.

FedEx uniform. Short cut shorts and one sized small shirt. All the gay guys and fat old women love me.

So your typical work outfits exceed $2k?

Don't think I spend that much in a year :)

I invested in work clothes early in my career - and that's how I looked at it, as an investment. The clothes I buy for when I'm not working are usually much much cheaper. I had reasons for wanting to present myself in a certain way and in the end it really benefited.

I wasn't making a judgment.

There's obviously a market for apparel in that price range and I'm sure it's a worthy investment in certain circles.

I'm just not at that level.

I'd think you invest in things that won't hold stains or be easily damaged by cigarette ashes.

depends. . .on a normal day, khakis and and a button down oxford or polo shirt (depends on the season). . .if i have an important meeting or i have to testify in court, i wear a suit, tie and wingtips. . .weekends, jeans and t-shirt or shorts and t-shirt (depends on the season).

white or grey v-neck tshirt
school logo polo shirt ontop of vneck
if its cold then hoody ontop of that or school logo jumper instead
black suit trousers
black adidas trainers

tshirt, basketball shorts, flip flops.

if i have meeting with someone outside the dept. i'll wear a button down shirt or sweater, jeans, and shoes

Business casual 90% of the time unless I am forced to network and meet people in the public then I throw on the jacket and tie. I hate formal wear.

I'm pretty lucky - we have a casual environment, as my CEO isn't for monkey suits really. I'll probably wear jeans, a long sleeve shirt or sweater today. If we have prospective clients in doing due diligence or for a software demo then I'm in black slacks, heels, and button up - I'm not a fan of colors, so you usually just a white (sometimes blue) shirt.

Thanks 'tiz :)

Stilleto, I'll be teaching scuba diving full time and working on a boat two or three days a week. Goodbye desk job!

I wear Dickies. Green ripstop pants with the cell phone pocket and UPS brown short sleeve shirt with two pockets (which is awesome). I also wear a light fleece jacket and a toque sometimes cos the boss keeps the t-stat really low. I usually get in first and it's my job to turn the T-stat up from 50 to 60.

business formal (suit) or business casual (dress pants with blouse, button down or blazer). Conservative, because I work in a law firm.

Crazee Wear pants, fanny pack, pink Gold's Gym pullover sweater, Otomix, Red Bandana around my neck.

If it's warm I wear Daisy Dukes and Doc Martens. A little posing oil and spray on tan. No shirt.

Early-mid 90's Flex magazine is the perfect guide for timeless style.

Current job I have to wear a collared shirt and pants until springtime then I can wear. Have a vendor ball cap mostly to control my hair until it grows out some more.

Old job could wear whatever but after I was higher up in the company usually a polo and jeans. If going out with a client slacks and button down shirt. In the field I wore coveralls or overalls with steel toed boots and a hard hat.

Cheers,
Scotsman
