In all fairness, he's been in office for more than a year and still hasn't figured-out we're at war with a bunch of nutjobs that want to kill us. How smart can he possibly be?

And he had a huge majority in the House of Representitives, a fillibuster-proof majority in the Senate and the Presidency and still coudn't explain his health care package enough to get it passed within an entire year. How smart can he possibly be?

Then he appointed a fat surgeon general and a tax-cheating treasury secretary. How smart can he possibly be?

He'll lecture us on not blowing our money on Vegas, then roll-out a budget with a $1.6T deficit on the heels of a year with a $1.8T deficit. How smart can he possibly be?

He'll cite the virtues of a lobbyist-free administration, yet public records show 44 lobbyists in his administration. How smart can he possibly be?

He'll escalate a war in Afghanistan, while announcing an unconditional pullout scheduled for 18 months later. How smart can he possibly be?

He'll push a capital gains tax cut for small businesses as a way to stimulate the economy. WTF? That would be like pushing for a 25% tax credit on mayonaise purchased by low-income blacks. Who exactly is that going to help?

Anyway... I could go on forever. It just seems amazing to me how we overlook stupidity demonstrated by the leader of the free world yet fixate on a possible candidate for a future office that hasn't been specified yet.

And no, I don't like Sarah Palin either. I don't like her delivery style and I firmly believe she's as unqualified for office as Barry is.

I think the reality is even the schleppiest Senator/Governor/State Rep could run circles around anyone on this board when it comes to national/international affairs. I always get a kick out of people calling them stupid. Maybe not Sarah Palin but anyone with real experience.

I'd agree with that, but you'd be shocked at the variability.

There's also a huge difference between how they present and what they know. I had the opportunity to chat with Phil Gramm once and he's got to be one of the most informed, intelligent and articulate people I've ever met. Then he gets on camera and just doesn't look all that hot.

The older I get, the more convinced I am that gravitas and substance are far from correlated.

She was basically up there to address her beleif system/platform. HOw does someone need palm scribbles to help them with that? This wasn't part of a camapaign where you're talking sometimes twice a day and fatigue is a major issue. There was nothing else on her plate, she had all the time to prepare for this.....she ain't the gubner of anything more either, you realize that yes? Comparing that to the president of the United States, who by the way just assknuckled 300 house republicans all by himself sans teleprompter......is quite honestly ridiculous. When Palin gets infront of 300 dem. senators and straight up roundhouses them with a full mount stoppage, you come tell me about it and than there'll be a discussion.

IMO three words scribbled on her palm was a simple outline of three points she wanted to cover. I've given speeches to huge crowds doing the same on a note card. It is common practice to do so because it is very easy to get sidetracked when people ask you questions. I suppose I am a moron too.

One thing I realized a long time ago is that substance matters little, it all boils down to presentation.

I will give Obama credit for being good at selling himself. Few people can bottle up shit and convince people it is water...and then get people to drink it. At least many people now recognize they have shit in their mouth. lol

Couple things here....

1) You do realize that teleprompters are exactly like your little note card, right? If you were to use a tele, you would input your outline and it would come up on the screen so you didn't have to look down. It's actually a clever invention.

2) I'm not calling someone who uses notecards for a speech a moron, far from it...everyone does it. We learned this in intro speech class. I'm just mystified why an electronic note card is somehow different being that it actually is a superior invention besides the fact it saves paper.....no hippie.

3) So why didn't the little governess use a note card? Was it because that would be noticed and someone would ask her why she just mocked the president for essentially doing the same? So she wrote in on her palm like a 15 year old cheating on her high school civics test.

4) look, I don't know why obama had teleprompters set up while talking to 6th graders. Perhaps it was because he knew he was essentially talking to the whole nation? That the 6th graders were just crowd fillers? Maybe a stupid publicity stunt I don't know.....point is it's simply electronic notecards. I don't hold it against him nor am I particularly impressed he uses them as much as is claimed. "BUT"...the man showed what's what when he took the house republicans up on their offer and put em all in heels/hose and made them his bitches. True story right there with video proof.
