I was told 100.00 synthetic oil change every 15k miles
If that's not a special, then that's a good deal. Still more than 2x what it'd cost you to do it yourself, but not bad. Mine was a turbo and the filter more expensive, plus I live in a big city.
Not on a mercedes. The oil alone will cost you more than that.
So..
8 qts of mobil 1- $50-60
1 Fleece Cartride oil filter $20
So you're already up to around 70-80 bucks right there. Not to mention the newer mercedes are completely covered from the bottom which makes DIY oil changes a major pain in the ass unless you have a pump to suck the oil out from above like your dealer does.
The price of the oil change isn't that bad when you consider the fact you go 13,000 miles between changes.

How does that end up being more than $185? $140 an hour labor, .5 to .75 hours charge
If you're saying the dealer is charge you $185 for just oil, then you definitely need to do that oil and filter yourself.
My mercedes dealer charges 120 for an oil change. Also, when they're changing your oil they do a complete inspection of the car.
You expect them to do it for free?
