hey guys.... i think that since everyone's log has been hijacked with random shit not even pertaining to lifting recently that i'd make one of these... basically chat and conversation for the lifting forum :)
 
Well since we were talking about who was stronger in EM's log, I'll continue it here. How strong are you Saibot? I've seen your log but I haven't seen you max out yet so just curious. Out of the people who keep logs here, I'd say the Alcatraz is the strongest, then Gladiator, then Andalite (overall, although his bench is weak:D), then either oso or me(oso has a higher squat, but my bench is higher and our one rep max deadlift is about the same), then extra mile, then jdid(but EM you better heal quickly because jdid is catching up to you. Not sure where Saibot would go because I don't know his maxes. But how long have you all worked out? I have worked out for one year now, starting last Janurary. However I have only been benching for like half a year, and only deadlifting and squatting for 4 months or so.

yeah gotten into 7 colleges so far. I'm pretty sure alcatraz benches 405 and overhead presses 315 plus, and before his injury he squatted and deadlifted 405 plus.

EM- Not sure- he isn't as consistent with his log anymore from what i've seen
 
For upper body anyone that weights less than 200 and pushes 4 plates is extremly strong I hope to get there.
I can piss 12ft by the way pfffft

EM has been begging me to start a log for at least a year now lol

I might start one up soon. After I'm done dieting. My strength is way down atm. It's funny what two weeks of no carbs will do to your numbers :(

hey guys.. any ideas on music i should download for the gym?? I currently listen to mostly rap and enter sandman by metallica but i haven't switched that shit up since my soccer season and that was the music i listened to before games

We should all post our stats so the number can decide who is stronger:

bench: 255 (1.34x bw)
squat: 285 (1.5 x bw)
deadlift: 375 (1.97x bw)
front squat: 215x5 (according to the calculators, this equals 250, so 1.31x bw)
military press: 155 (.82x bw:()
all at bodyweight 190 17 years old.

Writing this down makes me feel so weak, I want at least 1.5x bw bench, 2x bw squat, 2.5x bw deadlift,1.75x bw front squat, and 1x bw military press:( soon.....

Saibot what are your best lifts? The traz looks to me like he was the strongest in every way except his injury is holding back his deadlifts and squats.
 
Oh, and as far as strength goes....

Normally I go way out of my way to get into these discussions, but I would think B Fold and I would rank right up near the top.

Kickbacks pink db x lost count

I tweaked my low back on push presses and that plus no carbs has killed my performance. I barely squatted 315 for a triple Sunday :worried:
 
Oh I forgot..... I pressed 405 in a single ply rage x in a local yokal push/pull three years ago. I've never pressed 315 raw lol

I've been doing them while standing on the bosu ball. The added ankle mobility work really helps when you're chasing me through the mall.

Ok my best lifts are:

Squats

475lbs sumo squats for 3 reps, a 335lbs oly squat for 2 reps (and i mean oly squat in like my ass being stopped by my calves with belt and knee bands) .

Deads

A close stance deads with 475lbs, Rack pulls with 515lbs (lowest pin and on a step) 1x20 with 100lbs dumbells SLDL and i also do sumo deads with 465lbs.

Bench

Bench press is 265lbs (it sucks i know) inclined is 245lbs low inclined bench is 105lbs dumbells for reps

Dips is 6 reps with 100lbs and 25 reps body weight
Chinups it's more than 20reps bodyweight and 4 with 45lbs added
One arm rows with 130lbs dumbell for 8 reps
Behind neck push press with more than 200lbs (attempted 225lbs but twisted a lombar not cool and have been psicologically limited since then)
Pinwheell curls with 100lbs dumbells too haha.

But my real thing is personal training, teaching others our ways, i own my gym for a couple of months now and i can make it work even online EM is the proof haha.

I'm 5'8" 205 lbs with 10% BF.
Bench = 405 x 1 ; 315 x 10
shoulder barbell press (seated) = 225 x 12
Incline bench = 315 x 6
Decline press = 365 x 6
deadlift = 365 x 3
squats = 365 x 1
Triceps narrow grip bench = 315 x 6
Biceps barbell curls = 185 x 6

Please bare in mind that im recovering from back / knee injury hence my low weight on squats and deadlifts...I'm hoping to get those up in no time

Take in account I've never done an injectible cycle. I can imagine what my numbers will jump too once I start cycling :evil:

Ya an it's finally improving will be a year next month... I started a log on needtos forum started out squating 135lbs last month lol

Nah. I have above average leg and back strength. My presses suck and I have the worse arm genetics ever.

I'm glad you're getting back into squatting. Take it slow and soon you'll be squatting big weights.
 
wow, lots of strong guys in here that were stronger than I thought, saibot and SL suprised me!

hmm some of my PR's are...
close stance deadlifts - 319x1 or 292x4, but I used a belt for the 319
medium stance ATG squat 231x1 or 204x5
medium grip bench 198x3
strict BB military 110x5 or 116x3
incline DB's 66's for 7 reps
deep weighted dips with a 33lb plate for 9 reps
double overhand power shrugs 231x30 no straps

@ a bodyweight of 182-186 and 15 y.o (although i set the squat and deadlift PR's at 174-176)

You know, one of my favorite things about this forum is that people are not hung up on egos when it comes to discussing training. I really appreciate how this forum doesn't resort to "I am stronger than you therefore I am right" statements to win over any discussion, debate or argument. It's a refreshing change and I welcome that :)
 
I wish I could give some real numbers here. But it has been a LONG time since I have maxed out, and when I was a PLer I trained and competed equipped so those wouldn't be fair numbers either.

But since this is a massive dick measuring contest, I can tell you that I am as wide as I am long, and Mrs. bblazer is not as discouraged when I give her both inches.

Thats fine...it's a phase. Sufficient people need to follow Rippetoe like the mice followed the Pied Piper before they see the light. Plus, guys like you've been training for years - far before fancy (or in this case overtly simple) Rippetoe came around with his "wisdom" and y'all still got very strong..so I'm not too worried about recent trends :)

ps: I know this is funny but I've seen some of your posts and I know you're especially strong - and given your seniority thats even more impressive.

i think i actually weigh around 160ish-- been training properly for around 2 months though. before soccer started when i lifted for 3 months though i took advice from a lot of people about not squatting deep and hurt my quad which put me out of squatting... basically form on everything besides deadlift was shit :)

but yeah as someone mentioned there are a shitload of people who are really strong who don't have logs like bb, future, scotsman, muske, and more

...sorry guys my fever has spiked again. I read that the recovery for Valley Fever can be as high as 6 months to a year. Nice huh?

Sitting at this desk 24 hours a day, taking care of customers,members of ef and 10 other sites,training others,customer cals. Please do not laugh at me but I have been reduced to a home gym:heks: and its not even a good one. My shoulders dont even fit between the bench bars lol.. I have to grab the bar on the out side of the rack and do wide grip benching. I got no squat rack and if I put more then 300 on the bar I think it would fall apart. I only got dumb bells that go up to 45lb because i guess every person that buys weights at a reg store is a pussy so they dont sell anything above that. Its just sad guys sad.


This month I am going to fix the problem though. I am giving away all these bitch weights to a friend and getting me a mans weight set. I only got this one as a quick fix to a problem. I dont have a license so I cant drive. I got work coming out my ass so I am stuck at home. I got the gym so I could at least keep working out.


Well I am going to take a couple of grand this month and get me a bad ass weight set up.

1. Bowflex® SelectTech® 1090 Dumbbells

I will get a set of these. They take up a lot less room and they go up to 90lb. I would like them to go up to 120 but 90 is better then nothing and I can still do a lot with them.


2. I already have a Tred mill and a good one.

3. Bench Press/Squat Rack

Or something like it. O ya I am getting this bad boy its a must have.^^^
