$19.99 on Steam. Hear its about as good as Half Life, which is a bold statement in my mind.

What say you?

yeah you should. it's a pretty sick game despite being a few years old.. and the second one is coming out soon and it will be even better.

It's a good game - have no idea what it is like on PC but the XBox version was sick. Hard at some points and good story line as well that keeps you guessing for a FPS.

if half life is the game im thinking of it sucked, although i might be getting it muddles up with something else...

Fallout 3 looks interesting but Im concerned ill have to run the settings at low on my comp for that shit.

What baout Mass Effect?

Not nearly as good as any Half Life game, but worth a play through if you're bored. They tried to turn a 12 hour or so game into an rpg by cramming all these upgrade vending machines which killed the pacing of the story/shooting. Still an interesting if somewhat annoying game.

What type of game you looking for?

Not sure. Im big on a good FPS with a nice storyline, but something like Fallout 3 appeals to me as well.

I tried getting back into Company of Heroes but I end up sucking at those games in multiplayer.

If you want something with a great storyline Uncharted 2 on PS3 is supposed to be the epitomy of it as far as videogames go, although it is third person. The best fps for story line though is still Half Life 2 + Episode 1 and 2. Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl is a PC gem along the same lines as something like Fallout 3, which I've yet to play yet, but would love to if I had a big chunk of time to do so.

Since Nov. 2004 I haven't play much of anything except WoW. Still my favorite all time FPS was Starseige Tribes and then Tribes 2. I've played demo's of others but nothing held my attention for very long.

One of the few things I am actually looking forward to on PS3 though, is God of War 3...looks sick

God of War III

The other game I am looking forward to is Star Wars The Old Republic, the trailer is nuts

I played the Bioshock demo last night and wasnt that blown away...mainly due to some small issues.

Maybe I should just get Episode 1 & 2 for Half Life 2. Ill look into that Stalker game.

Stalker will eat up your time. Need a decent PC to run it too, at high settings at least a 2.4 ghz Core 2 Duo/AMD equivalent with a video card less than a couple years old/512 MB RAM (Nvidia 8800/9600series or ATI 3870). The Half Life games are very well optimized though.

Bioshock isnt that cool its very glitchy and you have to have a really good video card to run at full settings...

Yeah I picked up episodes 1 and 2 from Steam. Making my way through 1 now.

the half life series is "GOD" in terms of FPS's as far as I'm concerned. You should play them in order bro, so start with the first otherwise you'll be scratching your head at what the fuck is going on in this little story line. I haven't played the bioshock games but I heard they're good. If bioshock 1 is cheap go for it cause from what I understand Bioshock 2 is going to be tits'....

I'm kinda iffy about Bioshock 2. Other than multiplayer it seems they really didn't add/improve much. Assassins Creed 2 looks more promising, and I'd love to see Max Payne 3 turn out well but there's a good chance Rockstar will fuck it up.

I also wish Valve would put the brunt of their efforts into Episode 3 vs. another Left 4 Dead already. Last I heard they were using some new sign language tech that would be integral to gameplay. I think they could be trying to slap some more muscle on the aging Source engine for Episode 3 though too, and will apply stuff they learn from L4D to it. It would be a surprise move if they were building a completely new engine for the last piece of episodal content. It would kickass for sure, but seems unlikely.
