Alright everyone im gonna give 100,000k to the person that has the best abs. My avi is probably the best pic I got, so i know im not winning. I know there are some strong mother fuckers here but lets see whos got the best abs.

I wanted to do it for every body part, and idk but maybe make it a yearly thing like every year members post pics of everymuscle group (or the ones they think they could win at) and EF woud vote for them every year and youd have returning champions, prizes, etc. Idk just an idea!

Anyway go ahead and post up brothas :D

I'm think around 7 to 8 %. I was tested about two weeks ago by a woman trainer using calibers (spelling?). Truth be told, I dont think knew what in the hell she was doing. So I say 7 to 8 %, but I cant be sure. I'm still going strong on my diet so maybe a little lower than that...... I hope,lol

i'd seriously like to know what training regime you guys are using. of course you could go pick up any mag and find a "get your abs back" write up but I'm interested in what some real world experience can tell me.

gym 3 times a day, I was going to do a contest, but the start of school season screwed me up, I should have done it. It was pretty damn sick. I wish I took pics! I was probably 6-7%. I was only 190 though, I felt so small. That next spring, I got up to 225 and did my first cycle, up to 250. 60 lbs in a year, not that bad, lol.
I was doing cardio morning and evening. Little too much now that I think about it, and only had 1 cheat meal in 10 weeks.

hmm ive always had OK abs. Always did a lot of core work in highschool for football. Then I started doing hanging leg raises, then i started putting db's between my feet wihle doing them hanging like in a pullup position, superset it with weighted decline crunches. Gets my abs nice and sore.

I pretty much eat whatever i want, im lucky that way. So if anyone has any diet advice feel free to share

I've never had "ripped abs". it's not in my genetic make up to carry a low body fat for long. My abs are thick a showing even at 15% body fat, but that's from training them with heavy weight. I used to do side bends with a 135 pound BB lol. My gut is distended from squats and DLs lol. Not very aesthetically pleasing, but if I dieted hard it would probably look ridiculous. Maybe I'll enter next summer If you decide to do this again :evil:

Eat a ton of protein hardly any carbs like 100-150g a day and a little fat all from good sources fish oils, EVOO, and so on. Cut out all milk. Eat a ton of green fiberous veggies with everymeal pretty much do your cardio everyday and Work your ass off in the gym. It's got me from 212 at 14% to 214 at 8.5% in about two months. Plus needtobuildmuscle.com's shredder stack helped but I've only been on it for two weeks of that two months. SL please change that AVI it makes me want to vomit...

fuck! thats huge brotha! Haha well i had 2 double whoppers last night (2000+ cals) but i dont think i eat enough to get fat anyway, i dont really have the time either. I am eating good though. Well see. Maybe after the test/deca/anadrol ill try and get fat if im not yet!

I'm 34 yr old.. 5'9 1/2 185 pounds.... (notice I threw the 1/2 in there) I dont know if your remember or not, but you and "timtim" helped me the most on extra tips to bring out the abs. On a different note.. Over the winter I'm going to bulk as much as I can... This will be hard to let go of (the abs) but I want to be around 200 pounds and cut as well. Since I now know all the secrets to getting cut and what I respond well too I'm not that worried about putting on fat while bulking. However, I sure would like to get the balls up to try Tren Ace w/ Prop while having this low bf%. The below picture is what my abs looked like before( I think I'm at about 10% bf in the pic) the 8pack in 6 weeks topic, once I incorporated yalls advise to tweak my diet it really help. I can tell a big difference, from my abs pictures that I posted this morning..... TO EVERYONE I AM NOT NAKED IN THE PHOTO, LOL JUST A LITTLE TO MUCH SKIN

Typical daily diet:

Breakfast: 6 to 8 egg whites & 4 pieces turkey bacon, and 1 whole wheat waffle or 1 cup oat meal

Snack 1: 6 to 8 oz of chicken and 60grams of protein via shake

Post Work Creatine shakes (No carbs after workout)

Lunch: 8 oz of skinless chicken breast (Sometime I cut the breast up a put on two slice of whole grain bread, depending on how I feel that day) 1 cup of veggies

Snack 2 : 4 to 6 oz of chicken and 60 grams protein via shake

Dinner: 8 to 12 oz of chicken or lean steak 1 cup of veggies

Snack: cottage cheese or 60 grams protein shake 1 hour before bed

1800mgs of fish oil spread out through the day

1 gallon of water

On Saturday, I eat as many carbs as I wish. However, they are still complex carbs. If I didn’t do this I would go crazy.

haha true im the same way i pick saturday and do that but i try to keep it under 230.
 
Here's mine. Looking small I know. This is after 11 months without setting foot in the gym, eating garbage, and two years completely natty so not too bad. Plus I'm approaching 30 so not too concerned about being a "meathead" anymore. No offense to some of you out there.

Small? I wish I could not go to the gym for 11 months and still look that way! I'm 34, things really start to slow down... If I stop going to the gym and eating for 2 weeks I'm back to no abs....lol

Next. 4. Lifetimes. Which as unorthodox as "muscle training" is for swimmers (and other speed type athletes) I have the fortune - or misfortune depending on how you look at it - to have coaches both in high school and college that believed otherwise. So we did a lot of enhancement specific muscle training. Back, abs, shoulders. But didn't do anything for legs or chest.

The last pic here is from the photo shoot a couple years ago where I only trained abs for those 5 weeks.

I will let you guys in on a little secret here. Most people do NOT need to do ab training. Sure, everyone wants abs and they DO look good and make the girls knees weak, or the guys, depending on where you are hanging out. But the fact is that most people simply need to do nothing for them except diet. They will get enough work stabilizing the torso during squats and (heaven forbid anyone actually do these) deadlifts. Building up really thick abs is necessary or even desireable unless you have a big thick chest. Otherwise, over developed abs will only make your chest look smaller if you are like most beginners and trying to add mass to your chest. Likewise, doing direct oblique work will cut drastically into any kind of V-taper you are trying to build by becoming thick.

The day I quit doing abs is the day my abs started looking more cut and I started to get more of a v taper. I haven't worked my abs in 4-5yrs. Hell I haven't worked my chest or back in about just as long as well. But my goal is more overall symmetry than size.

AAP - basically what ur saying is that i need to stop doing abs? i like abs but i feel like they will be getting too thick. they already are thick. and i do heavy deadlifts/squats anyway.

If there getting thick then stop. Same thing happened to me. The less abdominal activity the better in my case. Over trained abs can ruin a physique.

I dont know man. My abs have always been thicker too even before i started workin out. I kinda have to hold them in alittle if i wanna look good. I think its just different body types. I work mine 1-2 times a week. Ill see what they look like soon again i hope. You guys all have awsome abs.
 
FEHHH! abs are overrated (yah, that's what guys who DON'T have abs say... so what! *laugh*)

I think I've done abs a dozen times in the past year... hahah... I'll chime in with the other guys though, as soon as I dial my diet in and especially if I do some cardio and take some thermogenic supplements, the abs start popping out... ab excercises are just needed to harden the muscles, 3 times a week is plenty..... definition comes from diet and cardio

Thats the only way to train them i use all the weighted machines for 10 reps 4 sets then end it with hanging leg raises to failure!
 
Abs are a shallow muscle and for that reason they don;t need a lot of work, yet with some people they do. I know that sounds contradictory but stick with me.

In order for abs to show, you need low bf. If it's low, they'll show.

But some guys (like me) have ab muscles that are a bit recessed, so mine do look better when I train them. And I train them like any other body part. Once a week, hard and heavy.

You also can't discount the old timers who did thousands of sit ups a day. Gotta admit, some of them had amazing abs. And small waists.

It still comes down to genetics. My most muscular and vascular body part are my forearms. With a 6" wrist they're over 14" defined and vascular. I never once did a forearm exercise in my life. Meanwhile, I kill my biceps and though they're "okay" they'll never be huge. And there isn't a vein to be found in them. Errrrgh.

Some of you guys have great abs though. But stop bitching about turning 30!!!
Try working abs in your 50's! It ain't easy. You'll see! Soon! Soon! Sooner than you think! LOL

I would definitely guess that you would be less than 8% judging by your pics. I would say you look closer to 6%.

i only read pages 1,2 and 10 couldnt be bothered with the rest. Glad you should deff make this with other bodyparts too, maybe put a thread about it in the trainin boards, and everyone who enters hits the winner with 110% aswell as whatever prize karma they recieve, and have the winner announced at the end of the year! :evil:
