I was raised in a Baptist home. It took me a very long time to totally let go of those beliefs that had been so engrained in myself as a child. I do think for myself however and I always tell people to ask the "Why?" questions whenever I hear someone spew non sensical blather that they accept as fact simply because thats what they were taught. You have to figure out the big questions for yourself. If I ever have children I am definetly not going to force my beliefs on them its something that every person has to find within themself.

On a side note chic's in youth groups are whore's and put out at every "lock-in" type event or outdoor activity...at least the ones in my youth groups did. I got my first BJ in a church bathroom on a wednesday night. Praise Jeesus. Lol.

So religion has it's advantages - mainly bringing people together. I've never seen a sunday athiest meeting or bbq.

Religion has goods, not only bads. I haven't seen athiests hold a fundraiser for a fellow athiest who needs a liver transplant. Maybe i'm wrong, but I sure haven't seen one.

Ask a Native American what life would be like without a religion/creator to believe in when things are tough. Where do athiests get their faith from? American Idol?

If barbarians came here, and started slaughtering americans left,right and center - there are a lot of athiests who would become religious pretty fucking quick, and would run to the nearest church for protection in 0.2 seconds.

btw: If u got shot and mugged and killed tomorrow on your way to the ATM - most likely it will be a guy who really isn't religious. People need to stop and realize that, just like humans, NOT ALL religions are the same.

I just love when people generalize in life. It screams to me their lack of understanding in this world (all blaque people are criminals! all women are evil!).

It would read however emotional the media can make it and being atheist is not what sales news...
