substance abuse group, New Beginings, for anyone who is experiencing problems due to

txbondsman

New member
drugs and/or alcohol.

As a person who has had more than my share of trouble, legal and personal, I want to share my experience, strengh and hope to anyone in need. We have others who will make themselves known, they too have much to offer. As in the traditions of AA/NA, only they will post their own names as they see fit. Whether it's a one time issue or you have been experiencing the agony for a longer time, we here would like you to know that there is a different way to live, a happy way to live, free from the chains of drugs/ alcohol. If you are experiencing problems, or you know someone, refer them to our group, New Beginings, it's an "open" group, all you need to do is look for "groups" at the left on your profile, click on "groups", you'll find us there.

There IS hope after dope!

Tx

there are alot, but non-smoking groups are more popular than the smoking groups now, nobody likes to sit around in a freakin cloud, the smokers would rather just step outside....

since you can't get arrested for possessing tobacco and they have yet to put a DWC/DWD law into effect, that's diping or chewing, it's not much of a concern for anyone. :-)

excellent bro, that's a tuffy to shake. It does take 6 months atleast to get far enough out to stop having those cravings in most people. If you have 7 months, your on the down hill side...

Re: substance abuse group, New Beginings, for anyone who is experiencing problems due

When I was forced to go to AA it was a bunch of bullshit. Nothing is above me, no idea is beyond my capabilities, I will submit to nothing and never would I admit that I was powerless to something. Yourself above all else is how you solve problems, not yourself below anything.

If what you do works for you, then excellent. But I will never concede to such ideas.

Forgive me for being a downer on your thread.

It's ALL about acceptance Bro, your not the first one and you certainly won't be the last to do it another way. Whatever works for someone, that's what they should do. Unfortuantely, most that have your attitude stayed out there doing the deed or went back after a time. We have no set rules, only guidlines that I have seen help many. I found that what I thought was right, usually got me right back in the same old shit. That's when I decided to try what had worked for others like me...

Being forced to do anything doesn't work for me either. Good luck to you figuring out and overcoming whatever problems you have.
Props to txbondsman for offering to help anyone who wants it.
3 months sober and though I don't go to meetings much, AA helped me after close to 30 yrs of drinking regularly.

yall are both right, there IS no wrong or right way, but there is a way that has worked for more people than any other. If someone finds themselves not being able to do it "their" way, we would like to offer suggestions to try, but only suggestions....

Re: substance abuse group, New Beginings, for anyone who is experiencing problems due

Honestly........I dont see anything wrong with drug use......if its out of control and ruining your life then seek help....as long as YOU feel that way. I smoke pot everyday....been smoking it everyday for 10 years.....i like to do it so I dont care what other people say, its my body and my life....will do what I want with it.......I also have a few drinks on the weekends and do some lines from time to time....
Basically what Im saying is if you like doing drugs than do it.....if you feel its affecting you then stop or get help....anyway I think its a good idea to have a this option here since many people are addicted to drugs and want help......or at least think they want help.

AMEN Brother! your preachin' to the choir here...
did drugs and alcohol for well over 30 years, I didn't have a moments trouble except a few sidetracks to the jail, they seemed to have a problem with it, but I didn't.

It didn't stay that way, shit started happening that I hadn't planned. My mental state, by body, shit started to crater. As I got older, responsibilities got bigger and harder to manage, life just started to spin out of control. I wanted the world to stop and let me get the fuck off! but, it didn't....

bwt, when I was in my 20's, I had this rolling tray that I was SO proud of, it was very pretty. On it was something that I thought was just really witty and cute, "reality is for people who can't handle drugs", and I believed it too.

Little did I know, the exact opposite was true.
