Anyone else get a text like this from an ex?

She usually only texts me around holidays but this one came in Friday night about midnight, I'm thinking it was a drunk text but she always preferred to get her drink on Saturday night. I think that I know exactly which song she was talking about...

yes, i have. She still has feelings, probably sex but not necessarily.
I can't stop having dreams about my EX... I still love her I guess.

This afternoon on the yahoo a guy I had ONE DATE WITH like 2 1/2, 3 years ago, never even kissed goodnight IM's me to "see if I am still married." He was all up for meeting for lunch while I am in town, that is until I reiterated how much I love my husband, how deeply I appreciate every thing he has and is doing for me and my girls and how all there could EVER be between me and ANY OTHER MAN is *just lunch*... nothing more. EVUH, no way, no how...

All of the sudden "he had to go and would chat to me later." Dollars to donuts it will be like another year or so before I hear from this guy again, "Just to see if I am still married."

I returned her text on Saturday and it was a pleasant good to hear from you with a quick update. I've always been a "scorched earth" guy when it comes to ex's. I figured she should be finishing her MS in nursing and shipping out to a third world country by now....she was raised a Mennonite and they love to volunteer.

I told her at the beginning and she was cool with it, methinks she wanted to convert me. I went to church with her every Sunday and we volunteered with the church groups. She just couldn't accept I had a different view from her, in the breakup text she typed,"I need someone equally yoked." That's some Bible versing...

No texts from ex's but I got a call from the girl I broke up with just recently. She was driving back from visiting a friend in Eugene Oregon, it's a long drive and she just wanted someone to talk to. So we got to talking and apparently her friend in Eugene has a boyfriend that she's been dating for a couple years. He's in the military and has been away for 4 months. She cheated on him last weekend with some guy she's suppose to just be 'friends' with and now she doesn't know what to do. I had a few suggestions of what she could do, may have dropped a few f-bombs. That conversation certainly didn't restore my faith in the female species. Cheating is bad enough, but on someone in the military? She's a c-word IMO.

Every now and then, from various ex's in my past. I never really parted on bad terms with anyone...or at least they never held a grudge. I don't usually respond, though, because I don't belive friendship after breaking up is really a good idea.

I agree with you, I generally respond with a concise statement of the facts when I get a question like that....I generally don't get follow ups. There is a good chance she was genuinely concerned about me because she's one of those people that really cares about everyone.

I think that I only crossed the line with her once. She claimed we don't know how many species existed when Noah built his ark so it is perfectly plausible. I'll remind you she has a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I looked at her and said,"Are you serious?"

The reason I know that was the song that sent her into sentimentalism was this...

About three months after the break-up we both fueled up at the same gas station, 50 miles from where we both live.She made the comment it was "strange." That means she thought Jesus made it happen, it was Easter weekend while I was going home to attend church with my mother.

I know, based on dogma they were touched by the holy spirit and didn't need to engage in any biological functions because of the holy spirit. I reject the "holy spirit" because I'm a dude and assume the holy spirit is probably a dude and no dude is going to enter me...I don't swing that way.. :rainbow:

I've been fucked on my investments but I think the US needs some pain to "get it." I have thirty years before I'm going to cash in. The problem with the US is that we have a bastardized system where regulators can take money from the entities they regulate. You can't regulate and take money from the people you're regulating...I think it's common sense. There is a free market option without the cronyism that has dominated both parties.

I don't know how you did it, bro. When someone is so religiously brainwashed that they take the bible as word-for-word fact, I can no longer respect them. I just can't help but feel that they are weak-minded. And that, for me, is a serious turn-off.

Interesting. I must admit its not my area of expertise (though I intend to make it so in the near future). How do you view this crisis though, is it end of the world time? 20 years of economic hardship? or will things continue pretty much as they have done since the 1990s?

Every full moon. Although I've never been fortunate enough to get anything sappy like javaguru. It's always about sex or nachos (don't ask). Although I did get an email recently from a former fb that is married but apparently wants a little on the side. It was a little sappy. IGNORED.
