Having clients train at YOUR home...what do you think?

Instead of doing all the traveling and wasting gas to go to the customer's place, and plus you have the appropriate high quality gym equipments at your house that your clients can use(if they don't have any @ their own home)...why not?? do you think doing this can jeopardize your safety...or privacy? I mean what do you think are the drawbacks that working a client at YOUR own place pose??

It is all about liability and image. You have to access your market and see if it creates interest. What type of branding or image do you want to send....what type of clients do you want. Check with your liability insurance provider to check rates - you'll need more coverage. You'll also need to check your housing development and ensure they allow commercial work to be performed (you'll need a local business license and these are things they will be sticklers on). A lot for you to consider - I would start with the local business license requirements and then liability insurance. Do your homework before making any decisions.

I'd suggest get started and fill these things in along the way - personal training isn't rocket science.

i train a few clients here and there at my home...... mostly those that i know well and have had for a while..... liability ins is a must tho....

This is risky considering your client who looks to you to change their body knows where you live. Honestly I would feel slightly uncomfortable because in my experience my clients tend to want to be a good friend and hang out (which I do not suggest). I feel if they know where you live they will feel free to come by whenever they want. Being on a DL can help you maintain a professional image. But i agree with SUN TZU as well if you have KNOWN them for a while you could take the risk but for a new client i would stay away from it.

I would definetly stay away from training those clients who aren't already personal friends.

I enjoy my privacy.

When grappling and working stand up with one client specifically, i take him to my home. I do not enjoy being watched by others, I find it hard to concentrate on taching especially grappling. So in that instance, home training is def. preferred.

You can definitely find your ideal situation, and choose to only train that way - So like you said, if you like training in home and having that privacy, go for it - Who's going to stop you?

I train a few people in my home on Saturdays. I usually only do this for special clients and for clients that had to miss a session during the week. Since I have personal liability insurance it covers me at both my studio and my home studio.
