So I've always wanted an industrial (ear) piercing. I've been thinking of getting it recently. I asked hubby for his opinion and he replied "it would be great if you were 19" apparently I'm too old for a damn ear piercing!

Surely this is just him being a dick. Or is it true?
 
It means he doesn't like it. He isn't into it. He thinks its something a kid would do and take it out later because he doesn't like it and sees it as something someone would regret. He could have just said that though.

You can always take it out later. It's not a big deal if you really want it.

I think if my husband said something like that to me my immediate response would be "What exactly are you saying?"

My husband always tells me to do whatever as long as I'm happy, but I'm also wife #3 and he is very much of the "Happy Wife/Happy Life" school of philosophy.

Total aside, do you have other cartilage piercings? It just happens that I was talking about piercings with my friends just this past weekend and we all had similar cartilage piercing experiences (godawful healing times). They just don't compare to skin.
