The pictures we've seen in the media are from Trayvon when he was 13/14. Not his current pictures. He is listed as 6'03, 160lbs.

Multiple witnesses have come forward saying it was Zimmerman who was screaming for help, not Martin. Witnesses say Martin was repeatedly slamming Zimmerman's head into the concrete, before the shooting occurred.

It also seems the little angel had been suspended from school for marijuana possession.

Truth.. Not media hype, is finally starting to reveal itself.

I just hate the one sided media, spinning this without including all the parameters of the case.

You'd think (before today) the kid was hunted and sniped from a tree.

The biased pictures are pretty messed up.

But even so, it's Zimmerman that ran him down first. So the standard he'd have to overcome to avoid a murder charge should be sky-high -- I'm talking Himalayas high.

That's the inescapable fact. If you're going to follow someone, there's no doubt who the instigator is.

Laws like "Stand Your Ground" have absolutely zero applicability in this situation.

For about two weeks after my home was broken into for the second time I was paranoid as fvck. I followed everyone that looked sketch. I didn't have a gun though.

a neighborhood that has been plagued by breakins and larceny would be my guess.
i'm sitting back and letting the case unfold, i initially had zimmerman convicted of 2nd degree murder, but as more intel comes out there appears to be more to the story.
only time will tell.
could definetly be another duke lacrosse situation

So aside from the fact the kid was a lot bigger than initially reported, what else is coming out of the woodwork now?

-Multiple articles say Zimmerman was walking back to his SUV and it was Martin who instigated the confrontation

-Witnesses reported the guy who was getting his ass beat laying on the ground was the one in the end who was standing while the person initially doing the beating was laying face down and apparently deceased.

-Trayvon had been suspended due to possible MJ possession, and in the past had been caught with reportedly stolen jewelry (both of those seem somewhat irrelevant)

I know what you mean. It's completely normal though, it's uncomfortable to think that someone would kill a boy like this. It's easier and more comfortable to think he deserved to die, they'll go out of their way to find the reasons. Human nature.

Either that or people can see this case isn't really how it's being currently portrayed by the media.

Yeah, it's inconceivable that a troubled teenager assaulted someone and got shot as a result. BTW Trayvon was 6" taller than Zimmerman. Using the term boy is very misleading.

The "p.s" is the dumbest thing I ever heard... I grew up in Chicago, that statement is not true.
 
I thought Zimmerman started following Trayvon and then the dispatcher was like "you don't need to do that" and so Zimmerman stopped. Then he said he'd meet the cops at some spot. (This part is on the recording)

This next part is just Zim's story: I guess later on or whatever Zimmerman got out of his truck to go see the name of the street he was on (in the original call he doesn't know the name of some street the dispatcher is asking him about). Then Zim gets jumped and Trayvon is like, punching him and/or pounding his head into the pavement (Zim had wounds to his face and the back of his head).

Yeah Trayvon was a "twig" but Zimmerman looks and sounds pretty beta.

When the story first came out it was that the kid had done nothing. Now some people are saying the kid attacked the guy. The truth is nobody knows.

I honestly don't see the point in everybody arguing over what happened. I don't know. You don't know. And lol @ the news even knowing.

I'd rather just wait til it goes to court at this point with like 5 alternate stories floating around.

If he's so nearsighted he needs to get out of a car to read a street sign, he shouldn't be driving. Or if he does, I guarantee it's required he wear glasses, and I'm doubting someone that near sighted forgot them if he were headed out for a neighborhood watch.

Like I said, I don't know what happened but "getting out to read a street sign" is fishy.

I'm kind of with you. It's sad a kid died, but I'm not heartbroken. My life isn't affected. It's just the truth.

The only thing I really care about is that it seemed they didn't start a legit investigation til the situation started receiving some attention.

I understand what you're saying. but if one starts grasping at straws that arent actually relevant, then perhaps shouldn't bring em up. stuff similar to this has happened before. All i can think about is some of my cousins or nephews could have been in the same position and its easy to imagine them as treyvon.

I have no problem with zimmerman trying to justify his actions and prove his innocence as his right, just pisses me off he wont even be arrested for a trail.

I am too. Can't see signs in broad daylight and don't wear my glasses almost ever...but someone on neighborhood watch would when his entire voluntary job is to look for stuff.

I;m just saying this Zimmerman is trying to come up with anything that will even remotely make some justification for why he shot this kid. Trying to say he innocently got out of the car to read a street sign is just bullshit IMO

Also, I'm not saying there was no altercation and at some point perhaps Trayvon WAS on top of Zimmerman, who knows. BUT, if he was, that does not mean Trayvon initiated the attack. That just means he was fighting with Zimmerman, who we KNOW was following this kid. So, who do you think started the altercation?

If someone followed you and started an altercation with you while you walked down the street talking to your GF on the phone, would you fight back?
 
It shouldn't be that easy to shoot anybody. I have pulled my gun once in my life. I was at a gas station at night, and while pumping gas I noticed three men starting to approach my vehicle from three different angles. I calmly reached underneath my car seat, grabbed my gun, and held it close to me. I was scared shitless. A ton of thoughts went running through my head in a matter of seconds, I desperately didn't want to use my gun to defend myself.Luckily, those three guys apparently understood the gesture I made, although they probably couldn't make out the fact that I had a gun from the distance they were at. They broke off, and the biggest sigh of relief I've ever had came over me.

So basically, unless you're a fucked up person, the decision to even hold a gun with the intent to kill should never cross your mind unless it's a last resort.

Agreed.

If they had investigated, found Trayvon initiated physical contact and it was indeed a self-defense shooting, I'd be okay with it. The lack of formal police process, or at least the lack of transperency in that process (or lack thereof) is why this is problematic.

The police are not required to be transparent.. Not at this moment anyway. Due process takes time.

I am from Chicago and still am... I'm in the lincoln park area. I was saying that I never grew up in the ghetto/ nigger infested area.. What I was trying to say, is what all these ghetto ppl don't smoke weed? They do hard drugs? She was saying how ppl that smoke weed are really nice and calm or something like that..
