Hernia surgery?

I was trimming the tree the other day and I noticed I had a small bump just below my gut. I guess it's an inguinal hernia, although it seems a little high up. Fck! I assume it's fairly new, but the tree hasn't been bare in a while, so WTFK. It's not too bad now, so I'll probably hold off for a while before getting surgery.

I asume I'll need at least 6 weeks off to heal up? I know when I had the umbilical hernia repaired a few years back, I could not do much the first week and I was not supposed to lift more than 10 pounds for quite a while.

Had mine repaired when I was 59, now 62. It started to ache and repairing is better done sooner than later. Out patient on Friday, home in 4 hours (actually stopped at McDonalds for lunch) and could have worked on Monday, but waited until Tuesday. However, I do have a desk job so not much strain. I waited 4-6 weeks as I did not want to risk a redo, which is not a good thing.

Thanks,

I was back to work the next week when I had the umbilical done, but I think I might milk this for two weeks when the time comes.
