Comments: : Veiny, : I've had this happen, and it is a bitch- one of the most painful injuries : one can endure. The question is , is it really a nerve, : or is it a bad micro-tear or strain. In my case, I beleive that it is : a tear, because it re-occurs occassionally whenever I overdo it : on squats or any exercise that I press my head back against : a fixed surface (ie: leg press, bench, etc.) : The cure (for me at least)- Orudis KT is an anti-inflammatory available : OTC with KetoProfen- get it, its good. Get some DMSO gel, : and apply it to the area twice a day. Find a good massage : therapist in your area, who has experience with sports injuries. : It'll hurt like hell, and it won't be cheap, but go for : a deep tissue massage every other day for a week. : If your not better by the end of the week, go see a : sports med Dr. or Chiropractor and check it out thoroughly. : Good Luck, : S3 : AS Evangelist, Govt Antagonist : : It is bad enough that my butt checks hurt, but now I've really hurt my traps/back. : : I have pulled some sort of nerve in my left trap and I can't move my head at all!! : : I'm really worried about this because I don't want to miss anytime in the gym : : but I really can't do anything. Even getting out of bed this morning was : : very difficult. : : While I was doing standing straight bar bisep curls yesterday, I aggrivated this : : nerve, and now I can't move. : : This may stop me from doing squat (the nerve is in the position that the bar rests on) : : And obviously I it will greatly interfere with all of my upper body movenments. : : Can anyone help me??????? : : Do you know anything that I could do to reduce this sress in my trap? : : Should I put ice on it?
