Several weeks ago, I did a post on Ernestine Shepherd, who is a 75-year-old female bodybuilder who defies all logic. Well it seems as if Shepherd's 15 minutes of fame have continued far beyond her appearance on the front page of Yahoo since she's become somewhat of a news sensation.
Unlock the bodybuilding secrets that the industry doesn't want you to know
In fact, I just saw something about Shepherd the other day on ABC News, which profiled her strict workout regiment. According to ABC, the world's oldest competitive bodybuilder has a schedule like this:
The day begins at 2:30 a.m. with a 10 mile run, which is followed by a breakfast of raw egg whites. Then its off to the gym for a few more hours of exercise: She does 300 sit-ups, makes leg pressing 225 pounds look easy and even teaches a class.
Of course, she does a bit more of an all-around body workout than this, but this is just a sample of her schedule. And the self-described "former couch potato" has become somewhat of an anti-aging beacon due to her diligent work in the weight room.
Through her fame, I'm sure that she's inspiring some old fogies to work out more and get in shape.
