actually your body is depleted of carbs in the AM making it more likely to use calories from fat-- BUT problem being after about 30 minutes of fasted-state cardio- your body starts using muscle for energy.
basically- either keep your fasted-cardio pretty short or eat a small protein/carb about an hour before your workout.
