this is just a basic bit of info on risks i found on the net for the person about to take the plunge. i found this info to be truthful and not blown out of perportion like most medical reviews.

The more you use and the longer you use the greater the risk!!!

Question: What Are the Health Consequences of Steroid Abuse?

Answer: Anabolic steroid abuse has been associated with a wide range of adverse side effects ranging from some that are physically unattractive, such as acne and breast development in men, to others that are life threatening, such as heart attacks and liver cancer. Most are reversible if the abuser stops taking the drugs, but some are permanent.

Most data on the long-term effects of anabolic steroids on humans come from case reports rather than formal epidemiological studies. From the case reports, the incidence of life-threatening effects appears to be low, but serious adverse effects may be under-recognized or under-reported. Data from animal studies seem to support this possibility.

One study found that exposing male mice for one-fifth of their lifespan to steroid doses comparable to those taken by human athletes caused a high percentage of premature deaths. Hormonal System

Steroid abuse disrupts the normal production of hormones in the body, causing both reversible and irreversible changes. Changes that can be reversed include reduced sperm production and shrinking of the testicles (testicular atrophy).

Irreversible changes include male-pattern baldness and breast development (gynecomastia). In one study of male bodybuilders, more than half had testicular atrophy, and more than half had gynecomastia. Gynecomastia is thought to occur due to the disruption of normal hormone balance.

In the female body, anabolic steroids cause masculinization. Breast size and body fat decrease, the skin becomes coarse, the clitoris enlarges, and the voice deepens. Women may experience excessive growth of body hair but lose scalp hair. With continued administration of steroids, some of these effects are irreversible.

Musculoskeletal System

Rising levels of testosterone and other sex hormones normally trigger the growth spurt that occurs during puberty and adolescence. Subsequently, when these hormones reach certain levels, they signal the bones to stop growing, locking a person into his or her maximum height.

When a child or adolescent takes anabolic steroids, the resulting artificially high sex hormone levels can signal the bones to stop growing sooner than they normally would have done.

Cardiovascular System

Steroid abuse has been associated with cardiovascular diseases (CVD), including heart attacks and strokes, even in athletes younger than 30. Steroids contribute to the development of CVD, partly by changing the levels of lipoproteins that carry cholesterol in the blood. Steroids, particularly the oral types, increase the level of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and decrease the level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL).

High LDL and low HDL levels increase the risk of atherosclerosis, a condition in which fatty substances are deposited inside arteries and disrupt blood flow. If blood is prevented from reaching the heart, the result can be a heart attack. If blood is prevented from reaching the brain, the result can be a stroke.

Steroids also increase the risk that blood clots will form in blood vessels, potentially disrupting blood flow and damaging the heart muscle so that it does not pump blood effectively.

Liver

Steroid abuse has been associated with liver tumors and a rare condition called peliosis hepatis, in which blood-filled cysts form in the liver. Both the tumors and the cysts sometimes rupture, causing internal bleeding.

Skin

Steroid abuse can cause acne, cysts, and oily hair and skin.

Infection

Many abusers who inject anabolic steroids use nonsterile injection techniques or share contaminated needles with other abusers. In addition, some steroid preparations are manufactured illegally under non-sterile conditions. These factors put abusers at risk for acquiring life-threatening viral infections, such as HIV and hepatitis B and C.

Abusers also can develop infective endocarditis, a bacterial illness that causes a potentially fatal inflammation of the inner lining of the heart. Bacterial infections also can cause pain

Not stopping me

how is gyno irreversible?

Well it would seem really bad until you look at possible side effects from tylenol, viagra, Nexium, pretty much any drug. Example--below are the side effect of asprin with codiene

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); black, tarry, or bloody stools; blurred vision; fainting; fast heartbeat; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; loss of coordination; mood or mental changes (eg, agitation, depression, irritability); ringing in the ears; seizures; severe or persistent dizziness, drowsiness, or stomach pain; severe or persistent trouble sleeping; shallow or very slow breathing; tremors; unusual bruising or bleeding; vomit that looks like coffee grounds; wheezing

you can always say this as many do about everything. illegal rec drugs fit in to. but dont be foolish, bad things can happen. this is just a list of possible effects of steroid use. most will never have the serous issues. some will. it can happen. the beginning of the post explains this. again the thread is just to point out some of the risks and i mentioned the more you use and the longer you use it increases the risk for the new guy that doesnt understand this.

and as far as your asprin theory. it would be the same if we where talking about a real trt, but whe are not. we are talking about much higher doses that put tremendous stress on our organs. take 30 asprin ed for 12 weaks and see if it doesnt have any negative effects.

why have men in their early 30's dropped dead of heart attacks?

why was my heart inlarged at 31?

why did my neighbor at 42 die from heart failure?

howm many ef members have died lately?

it doesnt happen to everyone, but it does happen. im not trying to be some guru trying to get everyone to stop. i havent stopped myself. im still a bb'er i just have a much greater respect for life and i know the real dangers. these statements are true i know them from personal experience and directly from other people and their families who have experienced similar and worst situations.

Other than the people who are exceptions to the rule, ie: guys that run one low dose cycle and it really fucks with them....
We are talking about "abusers" here right? Now i'm not ignorant, I know anything can happen to anyone at any time for no apparent reason. This is why those of us who have any intelligence whatsoever get regular blood work done. Not that blood work will catch everything.
Generally speaking though we arent reffering to the TRT guys(who use sane trt doses) or the guys that blast and cruise. Meaning again, a sane trt dose and mild cycling of 4-600mg of test. Or the guys who run a couple light test or test/deca cycles a tear at reasonable doses. Basic simple stuff.
I would think that would be much safer relatively speaking than cycles of grams of AAS including "harsher" compounds. Would it not?

the risks are completely person dependant. no one really ever knows what will happen and when it will happen. problems can come fast. regular bi weakly doctor visits is your best chance of prevention but even that isnt full proof and i dont think many people are using a doctor like that or even close to it. in fact i would bet 80% of the people on this site dont even have a doctor that knows what they are doing. any how i see a lot of new guys reading 1 post that says something like there are risks in everything, or you have the same chance of getting struck by lightening and the new guy runs with that as if its a fact that no matter what he does with steroids, no matter how much he uses, no matter how long his cycles are its no big deal because 1 guy said that steroids arent really dangerous. it is stupid but it happens.

so their first cycle is 300mg test then a month later their on 500mg test and dbol, then another month later their on 600 test 400 tren and so on. no time off, no doctor, no fear of death.

i would like to see more threads on getting the most out of less, physical health, and watching out for problems. im going to make it a point to start putting these up once in a while.
