JerseyArt said:B emore specific. What are you pretending to be?
JerseyArt said:ID,
I honestly don't understand bro what you are trying to communicate.
Do you mean to say you are never satisfied with who you are. no matter what you accomplish? Or that you try to change yourself to please other people? And if the latter, in what ways are you doing so?
jd_uk said:You pretty much nailed it with number 2.
I dunno i dont wanna be to specific because of people i know who read these boards but in terms of gaining muscle, being ore outgoing, achieving success in anything generally. At the moment i'm not doing it for myself. Well in a way i am, but not diectly (again this probably doesn't make sense to you).
Life just really sucks badly at the moment. Gotta be positive though, i know it could be worse.
jd_uk said:It's not like i'm being fake though. I've just got so many goals that i NEED to achieve in order to not feel a complete fuckin loser but at the same time i'm never happy because it's never good enough. I'm just very confused.
BodyByFinaplix said:Bro, I understand what you are talking about completely. Its like you set goals like "I am going to try to finish college by this time...I need to have this career or be makign this kind of money at this age... I need to be married at this age...I have to get this or that done so I don't look like a loser, or so I can make my family proud." and the shit just presses down on you....
JerseyArt said:Goals are great, and necessary. People need a target to shoot for, it helps in the actualization.
But it can't all become that difficult goal. You have to have short and intermediate range goals in the interim to the larger ones to add perspective and a sense of accomplishment. Also helps keep you fresh. If you need to lose 60lbs, don't just make yourself miserable till you lose the 60, but learn to appreciate the shorter term obstacles met on the way (5,10,15lbs).
Also, don't make your whole life about "that goal" to the point where nothing else satisfies till then. They aren't magic elixirs, and they aren't the final destination
